TJ3176240-2017-02018-01-22. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This is a Technical Journal: Sensus Navigation. IAM 2.1 software upgrade to allow map upgrade via USB. There is a new process for upgrading maps on cars with Sensus (IAM2.1) navigation. Map updates for Sensus navigation systems in MY2011-2015A cars (identified as shown in attached picture) can now be downloaded online and transferred to the car via a USB flash drive in the same way as current models. Updating via DVDs is no longer possible. This Technical Journal informs the technician how to perform the software upgrade. Service: To allow map upgrades via USB, the IAM software must be upgraded to the latest status. Before starting the IAM software upgrade, secure following: - The Volvo USB stick must be formatted to FAT32. The 64GB Volvo USB stick formatted to exFAT or NTFS will not work. -

This TJ describes some of the known issues that have been reported and the most effective repairs. As with all A/C issues the customers concern should be dupilcated, a Climate control system check should be performed and it should be confimed that the system has the correct charge.

ANC = Active Noise Control The vehicle?s radio may be heard in the background on the opposite side (land-side) of a call made from a phone connected to Sensus Connect infotainment via Bluetooth. This happens because the microphone?s phantom feed for ANC is picking up this sound. It is not heard in the vehicle because media/radio audio is muted during the Bluetooth call. The audio heard may come from either FM, AM, or SiriusXM sources.

This document is a Technical Journal: Effective immediately, all 12V batteries may be tested using the hand held battery tester 9513030 (BT3300). The VIDA test is still available but no longer required. For battery replacements under warranty, the code generated by the BT3300 must be manually copied into the repair order text. It must also be printed and attached to the hard copy of the repair order.

If confirmed there is oil leakage in the bellows, replace the steering gear according to VIDA.

A new feature will be available in VIDA version 16.4 where by users will be automatically informed when their passwords are about to expire. The pop-up window example, in the attachment, will be shown 14 days prior to the expiraton date.
