Technical Journal TITLE : The Error Frame Finder (EFF) can be an aid in fault tracing intermittent CAN network problems by providing a visible indication of error frames that are being transmitted on the network when the fault becomes active. The advantage of using the EFF function is that error frames are usually transmitted on the network before a vehicle symptom can occur. Hence, if the fault is very intermittent in nature, it may be possible, for example, to induce the wiring fault for a short duration by manipulating the vehicle harnesses and connectors. The electrical fault will occur and be detected by the EFF without ever having a vehicle symptom appear. The instructions for setting up the tool have been simplified.

This is a Technical Journal: Rough shifts, 5-4, Neutral Control, N-D TF80SC/SD Due to internal tolerance deviation in automatic gearbox, (TF80SC/SD) the customer may experience rough shift from 5:th to 4:th gear, or/and shift shock after standing still at brake release, or/and harsh engagement N-D shift. DTC TCM-P089500 might not be stored even with above stated symptoms. PRODUCT MODIFICATION: A modified TCM software with better adaptation functionality for internal tolerance deviation in automatic gearbox. Material for analysis can be requested in Vehicle Report.

Short sound interruptions may be heard while streaming music via Bluetooth. This may occur even if the audio/music file is stored in the mobile phone.A possible temporary solution may be to change the source in the IHU to Radio and back to Bluetooth again. Another temporary solution to improve this symptom is to perform a ?hard reset? of the mobile phone and/or perform a factory reset of the IHU (NOTE! The IHU will be restored to factory settings.) Do not replace the IHU due to this symptom as it will not solve the root cause.

This is a Technical Journal: 1.Remove oil pump from AOC (Active On demand Coupling)and inspect the strainer. (See att.) 2.Clean strainer with lint-free cloth, do not use any cleaning liquids (this can contaminate the oil) 3.Clean pump sump in AOC, do not use any cleaning liquids (this can contaminate the oil) 4.Assemble cleaned pump to AOC 5.Fill up with new oil to correct oil level in AOC according to VIDA. 6.Perform a calibration using VIDA If there is a screeching noise (see attachment) and the calibration finishes within one minute, the AOC is OK, and sludge on the strainer and/or air in the oil system is root cause. Release the car. If there is not a screeching noise, and the calibration process takes more than one minute due to autostarting two times, then do a test drive while trying to provoke front wheels slip (obey all traffic laws and be aware of your surrounding). If the DTC returns, then replace the complete AOC. If the car is inside structure week 201220-201419, use VIDA to order and download the following SW after AOC replacement:: 31411060 for car 134, 155, & 156 31411059 for car 124 & 136

The oil may leak due to a crack in the plug from the VVT pulley Replace both plugs in both VVT-pulleys according to the attached instruction. This is a Technical Journal: P-SIM = Personal Subscriber Identity Module When using the in-car modem and P-SIM connection, the following symptoms may appear: 1 - In car apps such as TuneIn and Pandora connect to the service but say "Connecting..." when trying to play music. 2 - When a device is connected to the vehicle's WiFi hotspot, it will redirect to an AT&T website such as the one in the attachment Wifi Connection Message.jpg The above symptoms are due to the data plan for the P-SIM expiring. There is no fault with the vehicle. Should a customer present one of the above complaints, please direct them to the support site for instructions on how to renew the data plan for the P-SIM.
