Service bulletins for the 2021 Volvo XC40

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

316 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

S10083-2021-03-12021-04-26. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; VISIBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Volvo Car USA LLC and Volvo Car Canada Ltd on behalf of Volvo Car Corporation, has decided to launch Service Action S10083 on certain Volvo XC40 Recharge Model Year 2021 vehicles. Volvo has identified that the rear wiper motor protected by a 5 ampere fuse instead of a 15 ampere fuse was mounted in the central junction box. There is a risk that the 5A fuse will blow earlier if put under too much strain, for instance when a rear wiper is blocked due to ice or snow build up. In a worst-case scenario, the fuse will blow and the rear wiper will not function. No DTC?s or DIM messages will be set if the fuse is blown. The corrective action is to replace the incorrect 5A fuse with a 15A fuse.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
