TT7212012023-07-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE/IPDM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SEATS. After replacement of the Driver seat control module (J810) the vehicle may not recognize the new module. The adaptation test plan may not set the seat module location properly and it may display as a passenger seat control module.

After installing the -J345- trailer recognition control module (vehicles with PR code 1D8 only), wiring harness and plug, the following steps need to be performed in order to enable the system.

To detect which line(s) is inoperative, utilize a volt meter to check for 0 V, which will be present after the open in the grid line. The check must be performed with the engine running and heated rear window switched on. Switch OFF the ignition and visually locate the damage. Proceed with checking any other lines as necessary. Once the damaged line is identified, repair utilizing the Repair kit by Permatex® ITEM 09117.
