Service bulletins for the 2010 Volkswagen Touareg
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TT131301a | 2023-07-10. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. When servicing the timing chain sprocket or removing the vibration damper, be aware that one bolt holds both the vibration damper (harmonic balancer) and the crankshaft timing chain sprocket to the crankshaft. Once the damper is removed, the crankshaft should not be rotated unless special tool spacer T10368 has been installed. The crankshaft timing chain sprocket and spur gear drive on the crankshaft have a coupling that must be seated correctly during assembly.
