Service bulletins for the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Use the diagram below to test the N75 Solenoid Valve in the event of a turbocharger fault code such as P0299 or P0234. This applies to Mechanical Injection Style Diesel Engines, Pumpe Duse Style Diesel Engines and the new Common Rail Style Diesel Engines.
TT 21 18 012018-12-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OTHER FUEL TYPES:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS. Incorrect removal of Turbocharger oil feed line may cause engine damage
TT 21-13-012017-12-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER. Tech Tips (Equipped with Turbocharged Engine Turbocharger Replacement Tip): If mechanical damage is found to the turbocharger (e.g. damaged compression wheel, loose or broken shaft), it is not enough to just replace the turbocharger. This document informs the procedure of checks for damage.
TT 20-09-062017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER; FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. Tech Tips (TDI Engine - N75 Solenoid Valve Diagnosis): This document informs with graphical aid the testing of the N75 Solenoid Valve in the event of a turbocharger fault code such as P0299 or P0234. This applies to Mechanical Injection Style Diesel Engines, Pumpe Duse Style Diesel Engines and the new Common Rail Style Diesel Engines.
TT 21-10-012017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER. Tech Tips 92006-2014 Vehicles with 2.0T Gasoline Engine - N75 Solenoid Valve Diagnosis): When diagnosis on the above engine leads to the testing of the N75, please refer this document with graphical aid. The diagram shows which vacuum ports on the N75 valve should hold vacuum and which ones should not. Turbocharger fault codes P0299 and P0234 can be diagnosed using this test.
V231402 20366562017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OTHER FUEL TYPES:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER. Technical Bulletin (No Start, or Rough Running issues): When diagnosing a MIL ON, no-start or rough running concern on a common rail diesel vehicle, and no root cause is found after following all GFF diagnostic procedures, it may be necessary to check for metallic particles in the High Pressure Fuel Pump. If such an inspection is necessary, the guidelines in this document must be observed when removing the N290 Fuel Metering Valve
V231403 20366562017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OTHER FUEL TYPES:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER. Technical Bulletin (No Start, or Rough Running due to Fuel Rail issues): When diagnosing the condition above on a common rail diesel vehicle, if no root cause is found after checking all other components and all GFF diagnostic procedures have been performed, it may be necessary to check for metallic particles in the High Pressure Fuel Pump using the service section of this document. If such an inspection is necessary, the following guidelines must be observed when removing the N290 Fuel Metering Valve.
TT 21-10-022017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER; POWER TRAIN. Tech Tips: The document discusses the conditions of when turbo can to be fixed or replaced
V001401 20338462017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OTHER FUEL TYPES:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER. Technical Bulletin (Fuel Additive to Help Prevent Sporadic Misfire Faults): Fuel quality impacts the operating performance, efficiency and service life of the engine. The use of poor quality fuels may result in deposit build up on the fuel injectors and intake valves. This may result in a rough running condition, sporadic misfires, or cold start misfire faults storing in the ECM fault memory. A Volkswagen approved fuel additive is available to help remove and prevent deposits on fuel injectors and intake valves. This document discusses the "Fault Codes" necessary to diagnosis, and potential remedy of the issue. The fault codes for checking warranty coverage for servicing the vehicle are also available.
