Service bulletins for the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Tech Tips (Brake Electronics (ABS) Fault Code 02757 Diagnosis Tip): This document informs if the battery has a low state of charge or is disconnected, fault code 02757 "adapting tire pressures" may set in address 03 - Brake Electronics. The GFF test plan for this fault may prove inconclusive and the fault may not clear, even after performing TPMS reset using the button in glove box or through the MFI. To resolve fault, use ODIS control module OBD or VAS PC Vehicle self-diagnosis to run basic settings 42 under address 03 - Brake Electronics. After selecting basic settings 42, an activate button may be present, but should not be used. The display will change to "reset" once the procedure is complete. After completing basic settings, back out of Brake Electronics and remove the scan tool. Reset TPMS by pressing the "set" button in the glove box or making appropriate selection through MFI, and then road test vehicle to ensure fault does not return.

Update Bulletin2017-12-14. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. UPDATE Technical Bulletin (ECM programming issues) Current ECM programming may cause poor engine idle quality while the air conditioning compressor is activated. If vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, TCM must be reprogrammed along with the ECM. If vehicle is equipped with a manual transmission, only ECM programming is required. Current ECM programming may be causing slight hesitation related concerns on vehicles equipped with 2.0 liter CBPA engines (depending on driving conditions). The production solution to this issue was optimized software to enhance engine idle quality while the air conditioning compressor is activated. Improved ECM/TCM software was also introduced to address drivability concerns and slight hesitation complaints.

In order to provide effective lubrication and cooling of internal engine components, all internal combustion engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine and may change significantly over the life of the engine. Typically, engines with specified break-in periods consume more oil during the break-in period, and the oil consumption will stabilize after the break-in period. This document informs of oil consumption tests to check a vehicles performance.
