Service bulletins for the 2002 Volkswagen Jetta
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TT370606 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). 09A Transmission -- Replacing Transmission |
| TT321401 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Incorrect torque converter or flywheel/flexplate installation can result in transmission damage. When installing an engine, flywheel or transmission, please follow the installation procedures outlined in ELSA. For the flywheel/flexplate, please be certain the correct shim is installed between it and the crankshaft (reference VWIQ120). When installing a torque converter, press the torque converter hub through the seal as far as the first stop. Turn the torque converter while pushing toward the transmission using light force, until the cut outs in the torque converter hub lock into the pump wheel plate. The torque converter slides in. The torque converter is installed correctly if it is easy to turn by hand and if it fits evenly in the transmission bell housing. Additionally, it should spin freely when the transmission bell housing bolts are torqued to the engine block, prior to installation of the flywheel to converter bolts (reference VWIQ121). |
| TT280802 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. If a customer comments that the key cannot be removed from the ignition when the transmission is in PARK or that the PRND12 is not reading correctly in the MFI, DO NOT replace the ignition switch, lock cylinder, or lock housing assembly. Instead, be sure the Ignition lock solenoid is working properly and/or check that the N376 (called the "catch"), is connected to the lock housing. In some cases you may get a fault code 00194 009 Ignition key removal from lock open circuit/ short to earth. Use MVB 5 in address word 16-Steering Column Electronics for an aid in diagnosis. Please be certain to use the VIN in ETKA to obtain the latest part number(s) available. |
| TT280109 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. Be aware that there are 2 suppliers for the TDI glow plugs-Bosch and Beru. When replacing the glow plugs make sure that you do not mix stock. The vehicle must have all the same supplier or DTC P0380 (Glow Plug Monitoring) may set. |

| TT871005 | 2023-06-13. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. For concerns of no or intermittent A/C operation where pressure diagnosis does not lead to a cause, be sure to check the N25 A/C clutch coil. The fan control module may send a brief voltage signal to the clutch and then shut it off due to an open or high resistance in the coil circuit. The coil resistance should be between 3.5 and 4.5 ohms. If the reading is high or low when checked at the fan module, be sure to double check right at the coil to rule out any wiring concerns. Additionally, check ground circuit integrity for the clutch coil. |
