Service bulletins for the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TT201203 | 2023-07-10. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. When diagnosing a customer concern of fuel gauge not reading full after fueling, start by checking for the presence of a cover over the fuel tank vent as shown in the picture below. Vent is located on filler neck and can be inspected by removing fuel door assembly. If cover is found over vent, inspect for damage to fuel tank and replace tank if needed. Ensure cover is not present on replacement fuel tank. If fuel tank is not damaged, remove cover over fuel tank vent and retest for customer concern. If cover is not present over vent, continue with normal diagnosis. |
| TT191301 | 2023-07-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. After a cold start, the engine coolant temperature gauge will slowly rise to approximately 190° F. When the F265 mapped thermostat opens, the gauge may drop by approximately 60° F before again rising to 190° F. No repairs should be attempted for this normal concern. F265 is pictured below. |
| TT131301a | 2023-07-10. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. When servicing the timing chain sprocket or removing the vibration damper, be aware that one bolt holds both the vibration damper (harmonic balancer) and the crankshaft timing chain sprocket to the crankshaft. Once the damper is removed, the crankshaft should not be rotated unless special tool spacer T10368 has been installed. The crankshaft timing chain sprocket and spur gear drive on the crankshaft have a coupling that must be seated correctly during assembly. Failure to install special tool spacer T10368 before rotating engine will cause the engine to skip time and bend valves. |
