Service bulletins for the 2017 Victory Octane

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Bulletins, newest first
VSA-16-012020-09-01. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:DISC:PADS. Victory has determined that some Victory Octane Motorcycles may develop low speed brake noise under light pedal pressure. Victory has developed a brake pad shim kit to correct this condition. The rear brake pad shim kit will install over existing pads that are within pad thickness specification. Pads that are worn beyond service limit will need to be replaced along with the shim kit.
V-16-07-022020-08-31. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Victory engineering has determined that some 2017 Octane headlight assemblies were manufactured using a process which could introduce a stress fracture in the headlight lens. In the unlikely event that this occurs, it is possible for the stress fracture to propagate into a U-shaped crack during shipment, as shown in Figure 1.
V-16-07-012020-08-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:INSTRUMENT PANEL:SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER. Victory engineering has determined that some early Octane speedometers were manufactured using insufficient adhesive under the dial face. As the dial face becomes warm in ambient sunlight, the adhesive may release causing the dial face to rise and contact the needle. Riders may notice the speedometer needle hang up during operation and not return to zero.
VSA-17-012020-08-28. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Victory has determined that some Victory Octane Motorcycles could develop a slow crank or no start situation due to a starter that was potentially manufactured with a defect. This Service Advisory has been released to communicate a process which enables dealers to assist customers and repair qualified motorcycles without requiring pre-authorization from Victory Motorcycles.
