Service bulletins for the 2015 Toyota Yaris

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

T-SB-0044-16_Rev2018-04-02. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. TSB: REVISION NOTICE March 07, 2017 Rev1: ? Applicability has been updated to include 2017 model year Toyota vehicles. On some vehicles, when Rapgard? is removed the paint may have a stained appearance. These stains appear to be under the clear coat (repainting this area is NOT necessary). The stain patterns are usually under wrinkles in the Rapgard?. These wrinkles sometimes trap water and cause the paint to stain from the trapped moisture, especially on horizontal surfaces, such as the hood, roof, and trunk. Stains can be removed by heating the stained surface to remove the trapped moisture.
T-SB-0029-142018-04-02. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. 2015 model year vehicles are equipped with driver?s side floor mat retaining clips to secure the floor mat in the correct position. In addition, some models may utilize retaining clips for passenger side and rear seat floor mats as well. Follow the appropriate installation procedure to attach the driver?s side, and if applicable, the passenger?s side and rear seat floor mats to the vehicle carpet using the floor mat retaining clips during Pre-Delivery Service (PDS).
T-SB-0028-142018-04-02. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Long-term or off-site storage requires special care to keep vehicles factory fresh and ready for delivery. The following guidelines should be performed to minimize vehicle component/part degradation due to extended vehicle storage conditions. Long-term storage can affect a vehicle?s systems and components. Any problems that are found should be corrected immediately.
T-SB-0026-142018-04-02. Service bulletin. WHEELS. During the manufacturing process tires are mounted on the vehicle as matched sets to help reduce conditions such as pulling or drifting. If the wheels are replaced or refinished before vehicle delivery, it is important that the tires remain on the vehicle in the same location and in the same direction of rotation.
T-SB-0187-12_Rev2018-04-02. Service bulletin. TIRES. TSB: REVISION NOTICE February 12, 2018 Rev2: ? Applicability has been updated to include 2015 ? 2018 model year vehicles. January 23, 2014 Rev1: ? Applicability has been updated to include 2013 ? 2014 model year vehicles. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. Toyota vehicles are equipped with either conventional or run-flat tires. Sometimes punctures may occur as a result of contact with road debris or other hazards. If a puncture occurs, it may be possible to repair the tire and return it to service. With a conventional tire it is not possible to drive for an extended amount of time with the tire at low pressures as damage to the tire may occur. With run-flat tires, due to reinforced sidewalls, it is possible to drive for up to 100 miles at speeds less than 55 mph with little or no damage to the tire. The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (UTSMA) provides guidelines and recommendations for tire repair and replacement. It also provides information related to: ? Basic tire information ? Tire maintenance and safety ? Driver education, tire safety curriculum.
T-SB-0040-15-Rev2018-04-02. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:BUMPERS. TSB: REVISON NOTICE March 02, 2017 Rev2: ? The applicability has been updated to include 2016-2017 model year Yaris vehicles. ? The entire bulletin has been updated. Some 2014 - 2017 model year Yaris vehicles may exhibit a condition where there is an excessive gap between the rear bumper and the body. This is due to a partial separation between the retainer and the bumper cover. Re-securing the rear bumper cover may not sufficiently prevent this gap from returning. The rear bumper retainers have been revised to provide additional retention force to the rear bumper cover. It is also recommended to replace the rear bumper cover during this process. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.

Battery inspection and maintenance are required in order to ensure proper operation and optimal battery life. As described in this bulletin, operating the engine for 30 minutes after 60 days in storage and every 30 days thereafter will help to maintain battery State of Charge (SOC). This process supplements other movements of the vehicle as it is staged, and has specific restrictions on how maintenance is to be done. Also described in this bulletin are 2 other approved methods for maintaining battery State of Charge.
