The peeling occurs in the clear coat layer, exposing the base coat to the sunlight and fading the color to white. The affected panel(s) will require prepping and repainting to address this condition. The paint repair may need to be sublet to a body shop. |

This bulletin explains how to determine the differences between a fluid leak versus a fluid seep. Cases that are determined to be a ?leak? should be repaired accordingly and will be covered under warranty if applicable. Cases that are determined to be a ?seep? should be documented on the repair order and inspected at the next service interval. Follow the Repair Information in this bulletin to determine if the concern in question is a fluid leak or fluid seep and review the Repair Procedure section to address the condition. Toyota has received reports regarding vehicle frame corrosion perforation on certain 2011-2017 model year Tacoma vehicles. These reports have indicated that these vehicles, when operated in specific cold climate areas (Cold Climate States1) with high road salt usage, or exposed to other environmental factors, may exhibit more-than-normal corrosion to the vehicle?s frame. 1 ? District of Columbia (DC), CT, DE, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VA, VT, WI, and WV. Although perforation of the vehicle?s frame is covered by Toyota?s New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first), we at Toyota care about the customers? ownership experience. Toyota is providing coverage for repairs related to vehicle frame corrosion perforation. A separate program will be announced in the future and will include CRC (Corrosion Resistant Compound) application. Toyota is currently preparing parts and approvals for the CRC application process. CRC application will be covered under a separate Limited Service Campaign (LSC K0D) for a period of two years and will only be available for vehicles registered/regularly operated in the Cold Climate States that do not meet vehicle frame replacement criteria. This Limited Service Campaign has not yet launched at the time of this publication. Toyota expects to launch K0D in phases beginning in the Fall of 2019. The expected schedule can be seen in the chart below. |

Intermittent Bluetooth® failure to connect to the vehicle when first turning on the vehicle. ? Various Bluetooth® Audio functions are no longer functioning with customer?s phone such as ability to change the track using the steering wheel controls. These concerns can be caused by changes made on the customer?s phone. Make sure to inquire with the customer if the connectivity concerns occurred after receiving an operating system update on their phone, or if they have restored their phone data/settings recently. |
