Service bulletins for the 2020 Toyota Highlander
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

TT: The blind spot monitor (BSM) sensor angle inspection is used to confirm that the BSM sensor is within the specified angle before performing axis beam adjustment. When used in conjunction with the repair manual, these BSM tips leverage SSTs and readily available tools to support sensor angle confirmation in varying shop environments. |

| T-SB-0006-19_Rev | 2019-03-18. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. TSB: REVISION NOTICE February 11, 2019 Rev1: ? The Introduction and Every Two Months sections have been updated. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. Hybrid vehicles are equipped with two types of batteries: ? Hybrid Vehicle (HV) battery ? Auxiliary (12V) battery If the hybrid vehicle is put into storage, the State-Of-Charge (SOC) of its HV battery and auxiliary battery will gradually decrease. To prevent the auxiliary battery from becoming discharged during storage, proper maintenance is necessary. Perform the following maintenance service for the HV battery and auxiliary battery. NOTE ? BEFORE disconnecting the auxiliary battery, confirm the shift lever is in the ?P? position and apply the parking brake completely. The shift lever CANNOT be shifted from the ?P? position with the auxiliary battery disconnected. ? If the negative (?) terminal of the auxiliary battery is reconnected, even if the vehicle is powered ON (Ready ON), the hybrid system may NOT start. In this case, depress the brake pedal and press the Power button to start the hybrid system (the Ready light is ON). If the hybrid system still does NOT start (the Ready light is OFF), refer to the Repair Manual. |
| TSB-0009-19 | 2019-02-19. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. TSB: Long-term or off-site storage requires special care to keep vehicles factory fresh and ready for delivery. The following guidelines should be performed to minimize vehicle component/part degradation due to extended vehicle storage conditions. Long-term storage can affect a vehicle?s systems and components. Any problems that are found should be corrected immediately. |
| T-SB-0007-19 | 2019-02-19. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. TSB: A battery in a stored vehicle is subject to conditions that can reduce its performance and life. These conditions include storage period, temperature, parasitic drain, and battery load. Because of these factors, battery inspection and maintenance are required in order to ensure proper operation and optimal battery life. As a matter of policy, Toyota does not provide battery warranty coverage for discharged and/or failed batteries due to lack of maintenance. It is the dealer?s responsibility to maintain the specified State-Of-Charge (SOC) of the vehicle?s battery while in stock and ensure proper SOC at delivery. To eliminate customer service concerns due to an undercharged battery during the first few weeks of ownership, ALL dealers should check battery SOC and recharge, if necessary, within 48 hours of delivery to customers. |
| T-SB-0006-19 | 2019-02-19. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. TSB: Hybrid vehicles are equipped with two types of batteries: ? ? If the negative (?) terminal of the auxiliary battery is reconnected, even if the Power button is in the Start mode, the hybrid system may NOT start. In this case, push the Power button and select the Start mode again to start the hybrid system (the Ready light is ON). | T-SB-0002-19 | 2019-02-19. Service bulletin. TIRES. TSB: During the manufacturing process, tires are mounted on the vehicle as matched sets to help reduce conditions such as pulling or drifting. If the wheels are replaced or refinished before vehicle delivery, it is important that the tires remain on the vehicle in the same location and in the same direction of rotation. Refer to the Tire Positioning Procedure in this bulletin to ensure that the original tires stay in the same location on the vehicle. |
| T-TT-0521-19 | 2019-02-19. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. TT: The current engine active test ?Control the Injection Mode? is not operating as desired when controlling the direct injectors manually on 2GR-FKS engines. When direct injection is started and then stopped using the active test, current ECU logic does not turn off the direct injectors and can cause DTCs P017200, P017500 and P0160300. To avoid this condition, technicians should raise engine RPM when changing back and forth between the Direct Injection and Port Injection active tests. Use the recommended procedure below to avoid this concern while testing injection mode of FKS equipped vehicles. NOTE: If the active test is used multiple times without using this procedure to raise engine RPM, it may be necessary to reset learning values for fuel trim and Air to Fuel ratio before returning vehicle to customer. |
| T-SB-0158-18 | 2019-02-19. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. TSB: 2020 model year Toyota vehicles are equipped with driver side floor mat retainers to secure the floor mat in the correct position. In addition, some models may also utilize retainers for passenger side and rear seat floor mats. During Pre-Delivery Service (PDS), follow the appropriate Installation Procedure to attach the driver side, and if applicable, the passenger side and rear seat floor mats to the vehicle carpet using the floor mat retainers. If installation instructions are included in the floor mat kit, place the instructions in the vehicle?s glove box for customer reference. |
