Service bulletins for the 2019 Subaru Ascent

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

WUW-08R2020-03-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is initiating a new safety recall for certain 2019 model year Ascent, Forester, and Crosstrek Hybrid vehicles in which the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve may be defective.
11-196-202020-02-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. This Service Information Bulletin announces part number change information for the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valves used on the models listed above.
11-195-202020-02-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. This bulletin announces availability of a new vacuum hose assembly for the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system incorporating improved sealing to prevent potential oil seepage.
WUU-06R2020-01-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. In the interest of customer satisfaction, Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is initiating a Service Program to reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM) on certain 2019-2020MY Ascent and 2020MY Legacy & Outback vehicles. In some vehicles, the current software may cause the sub learning value control to operate improperly during the wake-up mode of the ECM. This could cause repeated erroneous learning of the accelerator position which can result in the disabling of the VDC function. When the VDC function is disabled, EyeSight, Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB), and Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) auto release functions are disabled by the VDC fail signal causing the VDC, EyeSight, RAB and EPB warning lamps to illuminate. This program affects approximately 115,729 vehicles.

(Subaru) is initiating a new safety recall for certain 2019 model year Ascent, Forester, and Crosstrek Hybrid vehicles in which the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve may be defective.
Subarunet Announ2020-01-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CRANKCASE (PCV). New stop sale/safety recall: WUW-08 Ascent, Forester, and Crosstrek Hybrid PCV valve Recall. The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve may be defective.
02-184-192020-01-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. This Service Information Bulletin provides the proper tightening / torque sequence to follow when installing Intake Duct #3 onto the intercooler assembly. Following the sequence below will insure the bolts remain fully tightened.
11-192-192019-11-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. This bulletin announces availability of reprogramming files to optimize the Engine Control Module (ECM). The new files will address isolated concerns of an extended cranking (hard starting) condition. They will also address a DTC P1604 which may be stored in the ECM memory without illuminating the Check Engine light.
02-183-192019-10-01. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. This Service Information Bulletin clarifies a bolt tightening sequence procedure for the three (3) turbocharger stay bracket mounting bolts. Torsional stress may remain in the stay bracket if the tightening sequence is not followed. The applicable Service Manual will be updated with this information soon.
02-163-16R2019-07-22. Service bulletin. ENGINE. This Service Information bulletin provides new inspection and repair procedures for AVCS (Active Valve Control System) -related DTCs on the FA and FB engine equipped models listed above. The applicable Service Manuals will be revised with this new information in the near future.
02-163-16R2019-05-28. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. This Service Information bulletin provides new inspection and repair procedures for AVCS (Active Valve Control System) -related DTCs on the FA and FB engine equipped models listed above. The applicable Service Manuals will be revised with this new information in the near future.
11-190-19R2019-05-28. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; ENGINE. This bulletin announces availability of ECM reprogramming files to optimize the ECM. This bulletin announces availability of ECM reprogramming files to optimize the ECM. The new files contain logic which will revise: (1) the ECM detection of DTC U0122; (2) the EGR flow rate to address a limited number of customer concerns about a slight hesitation felt while driving at highway speeds and using the cruise control.
11-190-192019-03-25. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE). This bulletin announces availability of ECM reprogramming files to optimize the ECM. The new files contain logic which will revise: ? the ECM detection of DTC U0122 ? the EGR flow rate to address a limited number of customer concerns about a slight hesitation felt while driving at highway speeds and using the cruise control.
11-183-18R2018-11-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER. This bulletin announces reprogramming file availability to optimize the ECM. These new files involve the ECM?s diagnosis of DTC P0045: TURBOCHARGER / SUPERCHARGER BOOST CONTROL ?A? CIRCUIT OPEN and DTC P2196: A/F O2 SENSOR SIGNAL BIASED / STUCK RICH BANK 1 SENSOR 1. For P0045, in some cases, an engine RPM drop may occur when selecting D or R range too quickly following ignition on and before the engine reaches full operation during the ECM?s initial control of the waste gate valve. Should this occur P0045 may set the next time the engine is started. For P2196, if the driver "snaps" the throttle open and shut rapidly, normal judgement of the A/F sensor data may be inaccurate and cause the code to be detected in error.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
