Service bulletins for the 2019 Ram 5500

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

416 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

21020222022-10-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. Flash: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Updates This bulletin involves reprogramming the TCM with the latest available software. The customer may notice one or more of the following: When decelerating from a 1 to 2 gear shift, the vehicle may have a harshshift. From a 1 to 2 gear change there may be a perceived bump feeling, whilehaving a light pedal(Sales Codes ETL and ETN Only). A harsh shift from a 2 to 3 gear shift while at almost or wide openthrottle. A harsh shift from a 3 to 4 shift and heavy on the pedal, lifting offthe pedal, then back on the pedal again. While coasting down a grade, an abrupt deceleration may be felt. A clunk heard when shifting from park to reverse or drive. Cold engine flare during a shift. A delay when coasting down, vehicle is in a downshift at low speedsand then trying to accelerate. (The vehicle will have a hesitation as the vehicle tries to change gears to accommodate the new pedaldemand). Excessive shifting(DD and DP Only). Engine flare caused by the transmission releasing the clutch too early duringa 1 to 2 shift. Poor shift quality. Shift or gear hunting. A harsh 2-1 shift. Hesitation in up-shifts and/or down-shifts. Shudder and/or clunk when shifting into gear. The following software enhancements are available:Stored faults can only be cleared by a diagnostic scan tool, this softwarewill allow the TCM to self clear. 2-1 coast down-shift improvements. 1-2/2-3/3-4/4-5 and 5-6 shift improvements.

90040092022-09-26. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Transmission Kit with Torque Converter 1. All Promaster (VF) 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the transmission bracket to the transmission case fasteners are removed during servicing, the fasteners (Part Number 06511385A$) are one-time usage. Vehicles built prior to 10/23/2015 requires Service Kit PN 68461214AA; includes Transmission Isolator PN 68264483AA, and Adaptation Bracket 68264479AA and Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA Vehicles built after on or after 10/23/2015 will require only the Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA. 2. All 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the vehicle you are repairing has a crack in the flex plate or failed pump bushing inspect and confirm that both (2) dowel pins are present in the engine block, which align the transmission center line to the crank shaft centerline and visually inspect the dowel alignment holes in the transmission case. If the holes are damaged or elongated the transmission should be replaced to prevent further damage to the transmission/flexplate or pump bushing due to the inability to properly align the engine to the transmission during the repair. 3. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If pump bushing is scored or damaged and the dowel pin alignment holes are ok, replace the pump assembly as opposed to complete transmission. 4. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If vehicle is jerking/slipping with MIL code(s) P0740 or P2764, check TCC Solenoid operation. If TCC Solenoid is ok, the codes are indicative of a torque converter failure. Replace the torque converter.

90041502019-12-02. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; POWER TRAIN. SEAL, Input If looking to replace stubshaft due to ATX fluid leaking, do not replace PTU seals. None of the seals from the PTU side will need to be replaced whenever the ATX stubshaft is replaced, even though V-seal (68408748A$) is in direct contact with the stubshaft, it will not avoid grease/oil leakage from transmission side. PTU V-seals are intended to act as a dust cover for stubshaft - PTU input shaft spline interface. PTU Input shaft seal (68408749A$) is intended to hold PTU oil and debris ingress; it should be replaced only if the fluid leakage is confirmed to be PTU oil and not ATX trans. fluid.
