Service bulletins for the 2014 Ram 4500
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 18-010-14 REV. A | 2018-06-11. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. Flash: Doser Control Unit (DCU), Heater Thaw Time Improvements And MIL Illumination This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Doser Control Unit (DCU) with new software. Software improvements are available for the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) DCU on vehicles equipped with a Cummins 6.7L turbo Diesel. The software contains improvements for the following: Increase in DEF thaw time when ambient and DEF tank temperatures are below -14°C. (7°F.). P208D - (DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID) REDUCTANT PUMP CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH P202E - (DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID) REDUCTANT INJECTOR PERFORMANCE |
| 25-005-14 | 2018-06-11. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:DIESEL; FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. Diesel Exhaust Fluid This bulletin provides information regarding the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) vehicle delivery fill guidelines. |
| 25-001-16 | 2018-05-21. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. Diagnosing A Urea Module That Is Exposed To Diesel Fuel This bulletin involves discussing what will happen to the rubber material used in the urea pump when exposed to diesel fuel. This unit is sometimes referred to as the Selective Catalyst Reductant (SCR) module or the Adblue Delivery Module (ADM). Units exposed to hydrocarbons have a particular failure mode, the rubber heater unit is crinkled and in some cases the metal heater protrudes through the rubber membrane. The rubber material used in this unit is designed to withstand Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) only. Exposure to fluids that contain hydrocarbons (i.e. diesel fuel) will damage the unit beyond repair. Units returned that exhibit this failure mode will have warranty claims that are rejected. Units that exhibit this failure mode should be considered customer abuse and should not be covered under warranty. Use the Hydroscopic test paper (P/N 223-44-863) available through MoparEssentialTools.com to confirm exposure. |
| 18-028-16 REV. A | 2018-05-07. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. Flash: 6.7L Diagnostic And System Improvements This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Engine Control Module (ECM) with new software. Several software improvements are available for vehicles equipped with a Cummins 6.7L turbo Diesel. NOTE: There will be a choice between 2 calibrations. One for vehicles that utilize an ammonia sensor and one for vehicles that have had the ammonia sensor removed. Be sure to select the correct software based on vehicle configuration. Prevent or reduce Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination when no defect is present for the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). These faults have been changed from a one trip fault to a two trip fault: · P0201 - P0206 - Fuel Injector X Circuit/Open Fault Codes. · P049D - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Control Position Exceeding Learning Limit. Improvements to prevent or reduce Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination when no defect is present for: · **P229E - NOx Sensor Circuit - Bank 1 Sensor 2 (For non-ammonia delete systems only). · P229F - Aftertreatment NOx Sensor Circuit Performance - Bank 1 Sensor 2 (For non-ammonia delete systems only). · P22A7 - NOx Sensor Heater Circuit Performance - Bank 1 Sensor 2 (For non-ammonia delete systems only). · U059F - Invalid Data Received From NOx Sensor "B" (For non-ammonia delete systems only). · P2459 - Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration Too Frequent. · P218F - Reductant No Flow Detected. · P242F - Diesel Particulate Filter Restriction - Ash Accumulation.** · P1C55 - NOx Sensor Intermittent - Bank 1 Sensor 1 (For ammonia delete systems only). · P205E - (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) Reductant Tank Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent (setting when the block heater is plugged in). · P20E8 - (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) Reductant Pressure Too Low. · U110E - Lost Ambient Temperature Message. · U3017 - Control Module Timer/Clock Performance. |
