Rear Crank Shaft Oil Seal and Retainer Plate For Cummins equipped vehicles only; If you are working on a 2016 or 2017 vehicle ONLY and are replacing the Rear Main Seal for oil leak, replace seal, retainer and gasket using PNs; 05086755A$, 05086754A$, 05015705A$. Remove the retainer with the seal installed. Please do not disturb seal in retainer when removing from engine. Please refer to detailed repair instructions in DealerConnect TechConnect for oil seal retainer replacement. Cummins Engineering is currently investigating the root cause of the oil leak concern and would like to analyze these parts. Please contact Chad Eichbrecht at cell (248) 309-2695 to arrange for part return. If you do not receive a response within 15 minutes, please proceed with normal repair.

If cracks are found, please replace as necessary. Cracks are typically found above the cross member area. If you are replacing the timing housing gasket due to an oil leak, please take detailed pictures of the leak, and submit them to the Star Center. Once submitted, continue with the repair. During the repair, check the breakaway torque of the gear housing retaining bolts. If any are found to be loose, note the location of the loose bolt(s) in the Star case.
