Service bulletins for the 2019 Ram 1500

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

90037042022-09-26. Service bulletin. SEATS; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; AIR BAGS; POWER TRAIN; BACK OVER PREVENTION; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Transmission Oil Pan, Heater (TMU), Tube or O-ring Applies to vehicles equipped with 8 speed transmissions only; if you have a leak that appears to be at the pan the use of proper leak detection is recommended. The fluid in the 8 speeds can be detected with a black light and there are aftermarket spray on leak detection materials to help ensure that the leak is properly diagnosed and not from another location such as cooler lines, heater tubes, or case porosity. Please note that the transmission pan gasket is available for many of the 8 speed applications FCA offers. Please review the available quick connect and transfer tube parts, as replacement of the TMU may not be required. If a TOC line connection is found to be the source, the quick connect may need replacement. If the leak source is coming from the connection of the TMU to the transmission, the transfer tube may need replacement. When parts are returned to the QEC the retaining clips (snap ring) for the quick disconnect fittings are missing. (This leaves a question as to whether the clips were missing from the assembly plant, or the technician removed them in order to make line removal easier.) Please return the clips with the transmission heater and note if they were not there to begin with. For any questions regarding transmission heater, contact FCA Redacted Content. If no response in 15 minutes, proceed with repair.

For AC Refrigerant Low pressure, AC blows warm, Not Cold, not cold enough, there is an investigation for a low charge on the HVAC diagnosis. Please when you detected an issue related with the R134a or 1234YF as a possible leaks, AC blows warm or not cold, prior to replacement or reload refrigerant, contact Juan Carlos Mendez at +52 1 55 1339-0508 (Mexico phone number) or by email: Juan Mendez at juan.mendez1@fcagroup.com Elsy Valencia at elsy.valencia@fcagroup.com Manuel Cruz at manuel.cruz@external.fcagroup.com, to receive more information. In case of suspected loss of refrigerant, A/C system should be thoroughly inspected for evidence of leaks using black light. The system contains fluorescent die which should assist in determining a leak location and mark it. If there is an indication of any leak on the ports/caps, do not remove the ports, consider replacing the complete AC line and return it to FCA for analysis. If there is an indication of any leak on the seal washer, do not remove the washer, consider replacing the complete AC line and return it to FCA for analysis. An excessive electric motor clicking sound with steering wheel movement, most notable in parking lot or low speed maneuvering(2019-2020 Vehicles Only). A ?Service 4WD? message/fault without commanding a transfer case shift(2019-2020 Vehicles Only). If only the ?Service 4WD? message/fault is displayed in the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) and no other symptom/conditionsare present, follow normal diagnostic procedures before updating the DTCM(2019-2020 Vehicles Only). The blinking of the ?4WD Low? and ?4WD High? indicator lights at the same time, on the transfer case selector switch. If both 4WD indicator lights on the transfer case selector switch are blinking and no other symptom/conditions are present, follow normal diagnostic procedures before updating the DTCM(2019-2020 Vehicles Only). During highway/freeway speeds, a bump in the driveline may be felt. This could also be described as a harsh transmission shift(2019-2020 Vehicles Only).

90040122020-05-18. Service bulletin. AIR BAGS; ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL:AUTOMATIC (ASC); VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL; SEATS. Power Latch W/AJAR Prior to ordering this part for a customer stating the Tailgate will not auto release or Ajar light is on when the tailgate is closed, first try adjusting the tailgate strikers to minimize the force required to close. The striker must be centered up/down in the latch opening. You have to balance tailgate flushness and closing effort by moving the strikers fore or aft. Striker position also affects closing effort. In most cases moving the right side striker rearward or the left side forward fixes the issue and maintains flushness within tolerance. On the standard tailgate, the ajar switch is on the right side latch only. Please contact FCA Redacted Content for diagnostic assistance and information to assist in problem resolution. If no response in 15 minutes, proceed with repair.
