Service bulletins for the 2017 Porsche Panamera
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 122-L6U2W-04 | 2018-04-23. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Subject: Plug socket (230 V/100 V/110 V) Symptom: AC plug socket (230 V/100 V/110 V) does not work. Cause: The bit for "Plug socket switch-off" may be set unnecessarily in the gateway control unit. |
| 122-G6X5S-04 | 2018-04-23. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Subject: Control unit for high-voltage charger Information: Due to a software error, there is a possibility that the control unit for the high-voltage charger will not switch to energy-savingmode after the vehicle is stopped in the event of specific user behavior. This can result in an increased closed-circuit current load and can thus deplete the vehicle electrical system battery. |
| 122-L4K3P-03 | 2018-03-13. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA. There is a possibility that the front camera heater on the affected vehicles will be switched on more often than required at low temperatures due to incorrect coding. This can result in material fatigue over the service life of the vehicle and the front camera can stop working. As a result, the "Camera system fault" warning will be displayed in the instrument cluster and camera-based assistance systems, such as lane departure warning, pedestrian warning, traffic sign recognition and Full beam assist will fail. Remedial Action: Re-code front camera control unit. |
| 122-W2Q5L-02 | 2018-02-12. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Customer Concern: The customer may desire a PCM software update. Perhaps the customer experiences an unwanted PCM behavior and errantly believes a PCM software update will help solve the perceived issue. Technical Concern: The calendar year 2017 software update for PCM4.1 is not compatible with MY17 Panamera (971) (which does have PCM4.1). In fact, this software update may make the PCM climate controls permanently inoperable. |
| 122-G2H3D-02 | 2018-02-12. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Concern: Incorrect Model Year (MY) coding in Gateway prevents programming Information: During software updates, it is possible for the Gateway to store an incorrect MY. If this happens, the vehicle will function as normal until the next attempt at Coding/Programming. |
| 122-D5Y9E-02 | 2018-02-12. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Customer Concern: There are reports of failed Porsche Car Connect (PCC) initializations. Technical Concern: Due to input handling in the VTS software, the Porsche Car Connect initialization fails. The ninth character in the VIN may be an ?X? (e.g. WP0AF2A7XHL123456). However, the system sees this ?X? character as invalid and does not transmit the installation code to the backend server. In this case, the initialization ends unsuccessfully. Additionally, the PCC portal does not register the failed attempt. |
| 122-T7Y5Q-12 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Information: This document updates information previously published in EQ 1105, EQ 1105, and EQ 1401. To provide stable voltage and sufficient current throughout certain service operations, you should connect the vehicle to a battery charger (sometimes referred to as a power supply). However, you may experience ECU programming and coding issues if the chosen battery charger has insufficient power. Many workshop manuals currently advise use of a battery charger with a 40 or 70 A current rating. However, with the increasing current requirements of modern Porsche vehicles, we recommend a battery charger capable of producing a minimum current of 90 A. |
