Technical Concern: The tail light produces a warning in the instrument cluster indicating that the tail light is no working. Also one or more fault codes (880F0E or 880F1E) are observed in the Rear-End Electronics module using the PIWIS Tester. However, the tail light may be working.

Information: A Cayenne with optional equipment no. 1D6 will come with a Trailer hitch receiver and wiring up to the receiver hitch that includes a control unit to operate the trailer parking lights, turn signals and brake lights. The Cayenne is also pre-wired for a brake controller. You will need to do the following to hook up the trailer electrics and/or an electric brake controller:

There is a possibility that the lens on the tail lights was not welded sufficiently on the affected vehicles. As a result, moisture can seep in, causing the lens on the tail light to fog up from the inside. The functions of the tail light are not impaired due to the arrangement of the circuit board and lens in the tail light.
