The bushing that attaches the gear selector lever to the gearbox may degrade over time, causing the bushing to detach. This condition could allow the driver to move the shift lever to Park and remove the ignition key, while the transmission may not be in Park, with no warning message or audible chime. Built 2002-11-20 to 2006-12-04. |
| 17V576000 | 2017-09-20. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP. Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2003-2006 Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo vehicles, 2004-2006 Cayenne vehicles, and 2006 Cayenne S "Titanium" Edition vehicles. These gasoline-powered vehicles have a fuel pump flange that may crack, allowing fuel to leak. |
| 04V593000 | 2004-12-15. SEAT BELTS. CERTAIN PASSENGER CARS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 208, "OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION." ALL THREE REAR SEAT POSITIONS AND THE FRONT PASSENGER POSITION ARE EQUIPPED WITH SEAT BELT RETRACTORS THAT HAVE A LOCKING FEATURE WHICH CONVERTS THE RETRACTOR FROM AN EMERGENCY LOCKING RETRACTOR (ELR) MODE TO AN AUTOMATIC LOCKING RETRACTOR (ALR) MODE FOR THE PURPOSES OF CHILD RESTRAINT INSTALLATION. THE BELT MAY DEACTIVATE THE ALR MODE WITH CERTAIN CHILD RESTRAINTS. Built to 2004-09-30. |
| 04V231000 | 2004-05-17. SEAT BELTS:REAR/OTHER. ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE REAR SEAT BELT LATCH ATTACHMENT BOLT IS INSUFFICIENT RIVETED. Built to 2003-12-03. |

| 04V069000 | 2004-02-18. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:FRONT UNDERHOOD. ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS WAS INCORRECTLY ROUTED. DAMAGE TO THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS CAN LEAD TO THE FAILURE OF VARIOUS ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. Built 2002-01-21 to 2003-07-19. |
| 04V068000 | 2004-02-18. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP. ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, IF THE GROUND CONNECTION BETWEEN THE SPIRAL RING OF THE TANK FILLER NECK AND THE CONNECTING PIPE TO THE FUEL TANK IS INADEQUATE, THE FLOW OF FUEL DURING REFUELING CAN CREATE AN ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE, WHICH COULD DISCHARGE AND SPARK. THIS SPARK COULD IGNITE FUEL VAPORS IN THE AREA OUTSIDE THE TANK FILLER NECK THAT COULD LEAD TO A MUFFLED DETONATION. |
| 03V351000 | 2003-09-24. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:LABELS. ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE AFFECTED VEHICLES MAY BE MISSING THE GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING (GVWR) AND GROSS AXLE WEIGHT RATINGS (GAWR) ON THE CERTIFICATION LABEL AS REQUIRED BY PART 567.4(G)(3) AND (G)(4). Built 2002-11-20 to 2003-02-11. |
| 2022487 | 2022-08-31. Lights And Instruments. Issue: On certain vehicles, covers were not installed over the horizontal headlamp adjusters. As a result, the headlamps may be adjusted horizontally. Canadian regulations do not allow for horizontal headlamp adjustment unless the vehicle is equipped with a built-in aiming device. Safety Risk: Headlamps that are not properly adjusted could cause reduced visibility or glare for oncoming drivers, and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install caps over the headlamp adjustment screws. |
|---|---|
| 2019290 | 2019-06-12. Powertrain. Issue: On certain vehicles, the transmission shifter could detach from the transmission. This could cause the transmission not to shift gears when the shifter is moved. As a result, the transmission could be in a different gear than the gear shifter indicates. If a driver attempts to exit the vehicle while the transmission is not in Park, and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle could move suddenly. Safety Risk: Sudden and unexpected movement of the vehicle could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the shifter cable bushing. Owners are reminded to use the parking brake anytime the vehicle is parked. |
| 2017457 | 2017-09-20. Fuel System. On certain vehicles, the fuel pump flange may develop fine cracks or fissures, which could result in a fuel leak. Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could lead to a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel pump flange. |
| 2004193 | 2004-06-11. Other. Certain vehicles do not comply with the requirements of CMVSS 114. The steering wheel does not lock when the key is removed from the ignition switch using the optionally provided override device that permits key removal in the event of electrical system failure or when the transmission is not in the PARK position. Correction: Since this does not pose any safety risk, no corrective action is required. |
| 2004168 | 2004-05-19. Seats And Restraints. On certain vehicles, the rear seat safety belt latch attachment bolt may be insufficiently riveted, which could result in a reduced capability of the belt latch to withstand the applied loads. During a crash, the occupant may not be restrained as intended, which could result in injuries. Correction: Dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the seat belt buckle. |
| 2004065 | 2004-02-17. Seats And Restraints. On certain vehicles, the driver's seat frame may have inadequate welds and could break in a crash. If this were to happen, the driver could be injured. Correction: Dealer will replace the driver's seat frame. |
| 2004064 | 2004-02-17. Electrical. On certain vehicles, the springs of the foot-operated parking brake mechanism can rub against the main wiring harness. Damage to the wiring harness can lead to the failure of various electrical systems and, in extreme cases, to a fire beneath the instrument panel. Correction: Dealer will reroute the main wiring harness. |
| 2004062 | 2004-02-17. Fuel System. On certain vehicles, the ground connection between the spiral ring of the fuel tank filler neck and the connecting pipe to the tank is not sound. If this ground connection is inadequate, the flow of fuel when refuelling can create and electrostatic charge and a spark which could ignite fuel vapours. Correction: Dealer will inspect the ground connection and, if necessary, correct it. |
| 2003231 | 2003-09-25. Label. On certain vehicles, the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) were omitted from the certification label. Correction: Dealer will install a corrected compliance label. |
