Service bulletins for the 2009 Porsche 911

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

TSB-10-092009-11-13. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE. PORSCHE: THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF EXCESSIVE CLAMPING FORCE ON THE CLAMPS ON THE FRONT MUFFLER INCREASING THE FORCE OF VIBRATIONS ON THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. AS A RESULT, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE EXHAUST PIPES ON THE REAR MUFFLERS CAN CRACK ON VEHICLES WITH HIGH MILEAGE. THIS CAN CAUSE NOISES AND LEAKS AT THE REAR MUFFLERS. *PE
