20227252022-12-16. Suspension. Issue: On certain refuse trucks, the tracking rod brackets on the drive axles could break. If this happens, the tracking rod could detach and cause sudden loss of vehicle stability. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of stability could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Paccar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to install reinforcements on the tracking rod brackets.
20210062021-01-11. Steering. Issue: On certain trucks equipped with a right-hand stand-up driving position, the steering column may not be properly supported and could come loose from the mounting structure. If this happens, the driver may have difficulty steering the truck. Safety Risk: A loose steering column could cause a loss of control and create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a Peterbilt dealer to inspect, and if necessary, replace the steering column structure. Additional support brackets will also be installed.
20152112015-05-15. Engine. On certain vehicles equipped with Cummins Westport ISL-G engines, excessive engine crankcase pressure could cause the vent tube assembly elbow to detach from the breather. This could allow engine oil to come in contact with hot surfaces, increasing the risk of fire resulting in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install clamps at both ends of the elbow of the breather tube assembly and reprogram the Electronic Control Module (ECM) to improve diagnostic capabilities.
20150782015-02-20. Steering. On certain vehicles, the tie rod end clamp bolts may not have been tightened to the correct specification. As a result, the tie rod ends could loosen, corrode, and eventually separate from the tie rod, resulting in a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace tie rod assembly where the factory installed assembly has not been replaced.
20143392014-08-07. Fuel System. On certain vehicles equipped with Cummins ISB and ISL engines, the fuel filter shell and nut plate could separate, causing a fuel leak and also causing the engine to stall. Stalling would result in a loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash resulting in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel filter.
20140462014-02-19. Engine. On certain vehicles equipped with Cummins ISL G or ISX12 G engines, incorrect engine ECU programming could cause the exhaust system temperature to become elevated during cold weather operation. This could also cause flames to be emitted from the exhaust. As a result, nearby combustible material could be ignited, increasing the risk of a fire, injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Authorized Cummins service facilities will update software programming.
