Service bulletins for the 2014 Nissan Leaf
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| NTB23-049 | 2023-07-11. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. 12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect “Test with DCA” and “Replace” results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. IMPORTANT: • CPX-900 is now an accepted testing tool to use along with or in place of the DSS-5000 • CPX-900 operating instructions are found at: https://nissancpx900.midtronics.com/ • DSS-5000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandss5000.midtronics.com/ • DCA-8000 is now a required testing tool to be used for all warranty replacement decisions. The DCA-8000 is also a more efficient charger than previously available, and will charge any available 12 volt lead acid battery safely and accurately as long as all precautions and inputs are made correctly. The DCA-8000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandca8000.midtronics.com/ |

| NTB14041 | 2021-05-10. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. SERVICE INFORMATION The LEAF S Model Charging Timer and logic are different from the SV or SL models. The Charging Timer: * Is accessed in the lower meter info display (non-Navigation version only) * See Owner?s Manual under Charging / Charging timer / Without navigation system for further details. * Allows only the time that the charging is to STOP to be set and does not allow the charge START time to be set. NOTE: This can be confusing if compared to the SV or SL models that include programmable start and stop times. The S-Model will calculate the amount of time needed to charge the High Voltage (HV) battery and then determine when to automatically START charging based on: * What time the STOP charge is set for * The HV battery?s current State Of Charge * The percentage of battery capacity that it will be charged to of either 80% for Long Life mode or 100% for Long Distance mode * The current EVSE voltage being used to charge the vehicle (110vac or 220vac) Please see this bulletin for further details. |

| EXPIRATION NOTIF | 2021-01-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Expiration Notification - 2G Telematics Hardware Replacement Campaign Summary In 2016, Nissan launched a Customer Satisfaction Initiative (CSI) that provided clients with an opportunity to update the Telematics Control Unit (TCU) in vehicles equipped with a TCU designed to connect to the 2G cellular network. AT&T stopped accepting enrollments on the 2G cellular network, and discontinued its 2G cellular network coverage on December 31, 2016. Once the 2G cellular network was discontinued, there was no access to the NissanConnect features without a TCU hardware upgrade. Because AT&T will shut down its 3G network on December 31, 2021, Nissan is discontinuing this Customer Satisfaction Initiative to upgrade from 2G to 3G compatible hardware effective immediately. 3G services will continue to be provided until December 31, 2021. Vehicles equipped with a TCU that connects to the 3G cellular network will have no access to the NissanConnect EV features, including Remote Charge Status Check, Remote Climate Control and Driving History after that time. What Dealers Should Do 1.Service Comm will deactivate PC449 and PC450 on any VINs on December 22, 2020. No further dealer action is required. |
