Service bulletins for the 2017 Nissan Altima

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Nissan has discovered that some model year 2016 and 2017 Altima vehicles are equipped with an improperly calibrated Engine Control Module (ECM) that may illuminate a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) for abnormal Air/Fuel (A/F) sensor output. The cause is a grille shutter calibration issue which may lead to higher than expected A/F sensor temperature, resulting in the MIL for delayed sensor response rate.
