2021-08-16. Airbag. Issue: On certain vehicles, an incorrect passenger-front airbag may have been installed during a previous repair. As a result, the airbag may not inflate properly in a crash. Safety Risk: An airbag that does not inflate properly can increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Action: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your vehicle to a dealer to replace the passenger-front airbag.

2018-12-28. Airbag. On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger frontal airbag module. Note: Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. The recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk, and is expected to replace airbag inflators before their function would be affected.
2018-12-20. Steering. On certain vehicles originally sold or currently registered in areas of heavy road salt usage during winter months (Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador), the bolts that attach the electric power steering assist motor to the steering gear housing may corrode and break. This could cause a loss of power steering assist. The resulting increase in steering effort could create the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the mounting bolts and apply a corrosion protection coating to the gear housing and bolts. If the bolts bolt cannot be removed, a replacement steering gear will be installed.
2016-04-13. Airbag. On certain vehicles, the driver frontal airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment. Failure of the airbag to fully deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will replace the front driver air bag module.
2011-10-04. Fuel System. On certain vehicles equipped with a diesel engine, the fuel filter assembly may develop a leak from the fuel heater o-ring seal. Diesel fuel spilt on the roadway could endanger other road users by making the roadway unexpectedly slippery. This could ultimately result in a vehicle crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the diesel fuel filter assembly.
2010-12-03. Visual System. Certain vehicles were manufactured with rear window privacy glass that fail to conform to the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 205 - Glazing Materials. Correction: Dealers will replace the affected windows.
2010-10-05. Steering. On certain vehicles, the power steering system may fail due to the loss of power steering fluid. A fitting on the high-pressure power steering line at the connection to the pump may not have been sufficiently torqued during the production process. Over time this may result in the fitting backing-off which could cause a loss of power steering fluid. A loss of power steering could result in a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, tighten the connection fitting. The O-ring seal will be replaced as a precautionary measure in all cases where the connection fitting shows evidence of loosening.
A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
