Service bulletins for the 2021 Mazda Mazda3
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SA-006-24c | 2024-10-05. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Customers having MAZDA CONNECT concerns should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. |
| 09-001-24g | 2024-10-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience a “Telematics Malfunction” message in the instrument cluster with DTC U3000:00-TCU (Emergency call unit/telematics communication unit internal malfunction) or U3000:04-TCU (Telematics communication unit internal malfunction) stored in memory. This is caused by improper control software of the telematics communication unit (TCU). To eliminate this concern, the control software of the TCU has been modified. |
| SA-062-24 | 2024-09-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. For improvement of electrical diagnosis, the SKYACTIV® Wiring Terminal Test Kits has been delivered all the dealers. The terminal test kit enables you: To check pin fit drag of all PCM terminals used in SKYACTIV® vehicles and compare suspect terminal drag with a known good terminal. To measure the voltage/resistance avoiding any terminal damage. |
| SA-057-24 | 2024-09-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. If you encounter any type of electrical concern (e.g, dead battery, engine no start, DTC(s) stored...), interview the customer before proceeding with normal MGSS diagnosis by asking if any aftermarket devices have been installed. Aftermarket devices may be the cause of the electrical concern. Below are a few examples of unusual electrical concerns caused by aftermarket devices. |
| SA-006-24b | 2024-09-04. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Customers having MAZDA CONNECT concerns should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. |
| SA-054-24 | 2024-09-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. When the power windows are operated many times without being fully closed, small errors of the window position sensor may accumulate and cause improper operation of the jam-safe function. To reduce the risk of this occurrence, the AUTO function is disabled if the power window is operated 10 consecutive times without being fully closed (turning the ignition OFF and then ON does not reset the counting). If the power window is fully closed before the 10th time, the counting restarts and the AUTO function is not deactivated. |
| SA-050-24 | 2024-09-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some customers may complain that their liftgate does not open. This can mean a range of things, from the liftgate not unlatching to the power liftgate (PLG) not opening automatically. If you confirm that the customer's concern is that the liftgate does not unlatch correctly, follow the repair information below. |
| SSPC5 MRTa | 2024-08-05. Service campaign. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL; UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. SSPC5 - SPECIAL SERVICE PROGRAM - 2019-2021 MAZDA3 AND 2020-2021 CX-30 - CONTROL UNITS REPROGRAMMING Concern 1: Mazda3 and CX-30 – Battery concern On the subject vehicles, the CCU (climate control unit) and BCM (body control module) may not go into sleep mode even after the ignition is switched OFF or may take time to go into sleep mode. An electric current may continue to flow, allowing the battery to discharge and run out if the vehicle is left unused for a certain time. Causal factor: Inappropriate control program of CCU and BCM. Update to BCM will also update the IC, DOOR_ESU_D, DOOR_ESU_P, ESU modules. Concern 2: Mazda3 and CX-30 - MRCC concern: On the subject vehicles, the responsiveness when driving following a preceding car using the MRCC (Mazda Radar Cruise Control) system is designed to high response. Some drivers may feel the acceleration and deceleration jerk when using MRCC somewhat uncomfortable. The product update has been incorporated into mass-production Mazda3 and CX-30 vehicles, and acceleration and deceleration has been made more natural by changing controls to be closer to human expectation. The similar update will be made on the subject vehicles produced prior to the product update under this SSP. * MRCC: Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) uses a millimeter wave radar to judge the relative speed and distance to the car ahead and automatically controls vehicle speed. Working within a set speed range, MRCC automatically adjusts and maintains a safe following distance from the car in front. Concern 3: CX-30 - Theft-Deterrent System concern On the subject vehicles, the theft-deterrent system may not recognize correctly the open/close state of power liftgate, which may allow the theft-deterrent system to activate wrongly when the liftgate is opened by pressing the power liftgate switch. Causal factor: Inappropriate control program of BCM and LFU. Update to BCM will also update the IC, DOOR_ESU_D, DOOR_ESU_P, ESU modules. |

Description of the specific operations: Specific Operation 1 [MX-30]: After using cabin preconditioning or hazard warning lights for approx.15 minutes. Specific Operation 2 [MAZDA3 and CX-30]: After using hazard warning lights for approx. 15 minutes. Specific Operation 3 [MAZDA3, CX-30 and MX-30]: When both touch sensors are touched at once. Specific Operation 1 and 2 Cause: The touch sensor has been disabled to avoid the unintended locking/unlocking operation caused by rain. Specific Operation 3 Cause: The control logic is not appropriate. NOTE: If the concern occurs without the specific operation above, refer to TSB 09-019/22 (DOOR OUTER HANDLE TOUCH SENSOR DOES NOT LOCK AND/OR UNLOCK).
