Service bulletins for the 2010 Mazda Mazda3

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SB-08-003-092010-04-26. Service bulletin. SEAT BELTS:REAR/OTHER; SEAT BELTS: REAR/OTHER:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY. MAZDA: THE 5 DOOR HAS A RETRACTOR(A) FOR THE REAR SEAT CENTER BELT(B) INSIDE THE SEAT BACK(C). IF A STANDARD TYPE RETRACTOR WAS INSTALLED, YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PUT THE SEAT BACK TO THE UPRIGHT POSITION IF THE SEAT BACK WAS FOLDED DOWN WITH THE SEAT BELT FASTENED INTO THE BUCKLE(D). TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING, A DIFFERENT TYPE OF RETRACTOR IS USED WHICH STOPS THE BELT FROM LOCKING IF ONLY A SMALL PORTION OF THE BELT IS PULLED OUT OF THE RETRACTOR. *PE

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
