Service bulletins for the 2020 Mazda CX-30

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

15-002-20-37192020-09-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; SERVICE BRAKES. Some vehicles equipped with Smart Brake Support (SBS) may exhibit a front radar system malfunction message in the instrument cluster with DTC C1A67:04 (front radar sensor internal malfunction) stored in memory. This may be caused by water penetrating into the front radar sensor through the breather hole when exposed to a great amount of water and damaging the radar sensor, resulting in the DTC C1A67:04. To eliminate this concern, the front radar sensor has been modified.
09-023-20-3723a2020-09-01. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY. Some vehicles may exhibit a deformed fuel-filler lid panel (1) attached to the fuel-filler lid box, resulting in a poor appearance. This concern is caused by the lid box not having enough water drainage capability which leads to the accumulation of water inside it. The water then freezes in cold weather and expands or the inner side of the lid panel absorbs the water and swells from long exposure, deforming the lid panel. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the fuel-filler lid box has been modified to have better drainage capability.
01-010-20-37062020-09-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some customers may experience a no start because the battery is discharged after the vehicle is parked for more than 8 hours. This may be caused by one or more of the following, resulting in excessive parasitic draw (dark current) on the battery. 1. The vehicle control system may not have gone to sleep because a key fob was left in the vehicle after the ignition switch was turned off and the doors were closed. This is caused by improper BCM control logic which allows a higher parasitic draw (approx. 6A) to continue for approximately 6 minutes until the vehicle control system goes into sleep mode. If the doors are operated frequently for car washing or luggage loading/unloading etc., it prevents the vehicle control system from sleeping during that time. 2. The parking lights may have been left on because the warning sound for lights on is a short ding, and it may not be noticed. 3. [With Full-Auto A/C] The heater control unit may not have gone to sleep because the hazard warning switch was pressed after the ignition was turned off. This is caused by improper control logic of the heater control unit.

MSP572020-08-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. MSP57 - 2020 CX-30 WIRELESS CHARGING PAD LED STAYS ON: Concern Outline: The Wireless Charging Pad power indicator LED light does not shut off when the vehicle ignition is cycled off and the accessory remains functional in all conditions which may drain power from the battery due to an incorrect installation procedure. Only vehicles with the accessory installed at Port Salamanca are affected. Action Required: The Wireless Charging Pad function will be inspected for proper operation. If found to remain functional with the vehicle turned off, the Wireless Charging Pad must be replaced and installed correctly with the current kit available by placing an order in eMDCS. There are 286 vehicles in dealer inventory that must be repaired prior to delivery. Vehicles in Dealer Inventory will be posted to MGSS and updated weekly. Vehicles delivered with this MSP57 not repaired are subject to a debit of the New Car Ready claim.

This may be caused by improperly positioned felt pads attached to the rear console lid lock, which may have moved out of position after repetitive use. The exposed adhesive residue may stick to the rail and disrupt smooth sliding operation. To eliminate this concern, the felt pad positions have been changed.
09-023-20-37232020-08-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE.

Some customers may complain about a very low frequency noise and/or vibration felt at the steering wheel, the floor and/or the seats when driving at 1500-1650 rpm in any gear position. This may be caused by normal vehicle behavior while the cylinder deactivation is active (two cylinders drive). The state of the cylinder deactivation can be monitored in the center display to help verify if this is the issue. WARNING: DO NOT keep your eyes focused solely on the display while test driving. For your safety, keep your eyes on the road ahead. To correct this concern, the radiator mount brackets and the control software of the PCM have been modified to reduce the resonance of the radiator. NOTE: The combination of the modified radiator mount brackets and older PCM calibration may result in worse vibration.
