Service bulletins for the 2016 Mazda CX-3
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 07-004-17-3332a | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some customers may complain about warm air from the climate control vents. This may be caused by improper brazing (A) of the evaporator (B), causing a refrigerant leak from the joint between the tubes (C) and the header (D). |
| 01-008-17-3376 | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Some vehicles may experience a rough idle with the check engine light on and DTC P0015 / P0524 stored in memory. P0015:00 - Exhaust CMP timing over-retarded. P0524:00 - Engine oil pressure too low. This is caused by a drop in engine oil pressure due to a piece of foreign object stuck on the oil pump pressure relief valve or oil control valve (OCV). The temporary entry of the foreign object triggers a check engine light on, but rough idle will not be produced until a later time. |
| 01-004-17-3317a | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Some vehicles may experience an engine that runs rough and the check engine light on with DTCs P0201 and P0204 or P0202 and P0203. NOTE: Engine misfire related DTCs (P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304) are usually stored at the same time. P0201:00 : Fuel injector circuit/open cylinder No.1 P0202:00 : Fuel injector circuit/open cylinder No.2 P0203:00 : Fuel injector circuit/open cylinder No.3 P0204:00 : Fuel injector circuit/open cylinder No.4 This concern may be caused by an internal failure of the PCM (DENSO produced only). To correct the concern, the PCM internal failure has been eliminated. |

| 09-035-17-3080 | 2017-10-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. In accordance with Federal regulations, follow the procedure listed below when replacing a speedometer. NOTE: Tampering with a motor vehicle odometer is strictly prohibited by Federal, and State laws. It is the dealer?s responsibility to comply with Federal, State, and local laws concerning odometerand related documentation requirements when providing a repair or replacement. Mazda vehicles are manufactured with tamper-proof speedometers. When a speedometer is replaced, the new speedometer will read zero (0) miles. This procedure is extremely important to accurately represent actual vehicle mileage. Prior to speedometer removal, complete the information required on the ?SpeedometerReplacement Label?.Labels can only be ordered through Mazda eStore. In an effort to achieve a higher level of Customer Experience and retain the value of Mazda?s vehicles, MNAO Warranty Operations is allowing all Mazda dealers to utilize a third party, SPECMO Enterprises, Inc., for Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) odometer setting service. With the use of SPECMO?s services, a Mazda dealer can get the odometer setting updated to reflect the correct mileage at the time of replacement for both warranty and customer pay repairs, therefore resulting in a higher level of customer satisfaction. Since odometer setting service is not part of the warranty repair, it is not warrantable nor required, but optional. However, Mazda Warranty policy provides after- warranty assistance (AWA) or DSA that can be utilized to cover this service expense. |
| 15003173284 | 2017-09-27. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:FOG LIGHTS; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. ? After installing the new Forward Sensing Camera (FSC), frequency of the disabled function with the LDWS/HBC warning lights ON due to foggy FSC lens will be reduced. However, the warning message will be displayed on the Multi-Information Display (MID) or the center display when FSC lens is foggy. ? The foggy FSC lens may occur at some weather conditions and is not caused by a defect of the parts. When the warning message is displayed, drive the vehicle for 10 minutes or more with the defroster ON to defogthe FSC lens. |
| MT-010-17 | 2017-08-25. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Some customers may claim that it is impossible or difficult to view the Active Driving Display, even if the position of the display is adjusted through the Settings screen. This is caused by an incorrectly learned zero-point (closed position) of the Active Driving Display. The main reason this happens is because an object (e.g. gloves, paper, etc. ) was placed in the storage area where the mirror and optical receiver are housed. If an object is detected (i.e., jammed) when the Active Driving Display closes after switching the ignition OFF, the system determines this as abnormal and stops the closing operation, leaving the Active Driving Display in an open position. When the engine is started the next time, correction of the zero-point is automatically performed. If the object is still in the storage area during the correction, the system learns the incorrect position as the zero-point. As a result, the zero-point position largely deviates from the standard position; therefore, it becomes impossible to view the Active Driving Display from the normal view position. |
| MT-015-17 | 2017-08-10. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some customers may complain about the following MAZDA CONNECT Temperature Warning message: Display is too Hot. Screen performance may be decreased until it cools. The warning message displays when the MAZDA CONNECT screen temperature is above 176 degrees Fahrenheit (80 degrees Celsius). |
| SA-063-17 | 2017-08-10. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some customers may complain about the "wrong" phone is connected to the infotainment system. MAZDA CONNECT bluetooth will connect all profiles to devices in order of priority if the last device is not available. This concern may be a normal operation of the CMU connecting to available devices on start up. |
| 07-003-17-3313 | 2017-08-10. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some customers may complain that it is difficult to adjust the cabin temperature using the auto A/C. This may be more noticeable when the outside temperature is approximately 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 Celsius). |
| 15-002-17-3325 | 2017-08-10. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION. Some customers may complain of improper BSM performance under the following conditions. 1. Even if there is no vehicle in the alert area, the BSM indicator light on the outer mirror glass illuminates. 2. When a vehicle appears in the alert area, the BSM indicator light on the outer mirror glass illuminates later than expected. 3. BSM indicator light on the outer mirror glass illuminates even when a vehicle is approaching two lanes away (right or left side). This may be caused by a variation of the relative location between the radar emitted by the BSM unit and the rear bumper. An error may occur in the detection angle of the radar. |
