Service bulletins for the 2016 Mazda CX-3

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

15-003-17-3284b2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HAZARD FLASHING WARNING LIGHTS; LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING. Some customers may notice that the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and High Beam Control (HBC) (amber) warning lights are on when they start driving around dusk or dawn under low temperatures. At that time, the windshield is clear but the lens of the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) is foggy. The FSC may not function properly under the following conditions: ? Foggy windshield ? Foggy FSC lens ? Heavy rain, dense fog, snow and direct sun light ? No or poor lane markings. When the FSC control system detects the foggy lens of the camera, the system deactivates LDWS and HBC functions.
SA-066-172017-10-12. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS:HIGH/LOW BEAM DIMMER SWITCH; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: SENSING SYSTEM. Some vehicles may have DTC C1001:92 stored in memory. DTC C1001:92 sets as a past record for low visibility of the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC). It does not mean there is an actual FSC defect. In some cases the customer may have a concern with the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and/or High Beam Control system (HBC). In other cases this DTC might be found without a related customer concern. NOTE: Instrument Cluster Multi-Information Display Warning Messages vary depending on vehicle year/model. See the Owner's Manual for details.

Some customers may complain that when passing a vehicle slowly, even if the vehicle is still in the alert area, the BSM indicator light on the outer mirror glass does not illuminate. 15-002-17-33252017-08-10. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION. Some customers may complain of improper BSM performance under the following conditions. 1. Even if there is no vehicle in the alert area, the BSM indicator light on the outer mirror glass illuminates. 2. When a vehicle appears in the alert area, the BSM indicator light on the outer mirror glass illuminates later than expected. 3. BSM indicator light on the outer mirror glass illuminates even when a vehicle is approaching two lanes away (right or left side). This may be caused by a variation of the relative location between the radar emitted by the BSM unit and the rear bumper. An error may occur in the detection angle of the radar.

09-036-15-3081A2017-06-08. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION. IF THE RIGHT-SIDE BSM CONTROL MODULE REQUIRES REPLACEMENT FOR ANY REPAIR, ALSO REPLACE THE LEFT SIDE BSM CONTROL MODULE TO COMPLETE THE RADAR AIMING PROCEDURE (IT IS OK TO REPLACE THE LEFT BSM ALONE). REASON IF THE RIGHT-SIDE BSM CONTROL MODULE IS REPLACED ALONE, “AUTOMATIC CONFIGURATION” IS NOT PERFORMED DUE TO A PROGRAM ERROR IN THE MODULE. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE REQUIRED “BSM RADAR AIMING” CANNOT BE PERFORMED. “AUTOMATIC CONFIGURATION” AS WELL AS ”BSM RADAR AIMING” CAN BE PERFORMED, IF THE LEFT-SIDE BSM CONTROL MODULE IS REPLACED ALONE OR TOGETHER WITH THE RIGHT-SIDE BSM CONTROL MODULE.
