IF A CASTING BREAKS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING ON A ROADWAY THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR PIECES OF THE CASTING TO BECOME PROJECTILES AND THE SUSPENSION'S TRANSVERSE BEAM MAY DROP DOWN LOW ENOUGH TO CONTACT THE ROAD SURFACE. | 2005230 | 2005-08-09. Steering. On certain vehicles, the bolts that attach the steering gear to the frame may not have been torqued to specs during vehicle assembly. As a result, steering performance may be affected, which could lead to a crash. Correction: Dealers will verify the steering gear fastener torque. |

| 2005200 | 2005-07-07. Suspension. On certain vehicles, the rear suspension transverse beam castings were not made to specifications. If a casting were to break when the vehicle is in motion, parts could become projectiles with potential to cause property damage, personal injury or death. Also, the transverse beam may drop down low enough to contact the road surface causing sparks that could ignite a fire. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the transverse beams. |
