Recalls that may apply to the 2003 Mack CL

A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups.

United States: NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19
10V0690002010-03-03. POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY. MACK TRUCKS IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2002 THROUGH 2004 CL, CV, LE, MR, RB, RD, AND MODEL YEAR 2003 THROUGH 2004 DM HEAVY TRUCKS MANUFACTURED FROM FEBRUARY 1, 2002 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2003, EQUIPPED WITH AXLE BEAMS MANUFACTURED BY BHARAT FORGE. THE AXLE BEAM MAY HAVE TRANSVERSE SHEAR LINES ON THE BOTTOM OF THE AXLE FROM THE TRIMMING PROCESS. Built 2002-02-01 to 2003-09-30.
03V2530002003-07-17. SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:SUPPLY:CHECK VALVE. CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 121, "AIR BRAKE SYSTEMS." IMPROPER SEATING OF THE CHECK VALVE RETAINER IN THE BRASS FITTING HOUSING HAS OCCURRED. IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE AIR BRAKE SYSTEM PRESSURE TO PUSH THE CHECK VALVE INTERNAL PARTS INTO THE PRIMARY SYSTEM RESERVOIR AND A VEHICLE OPERATOR WOULD NOT KNOW THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. Built 2003-05-19 to 2003-07-11.
Canada: Transport Canada, as of 2026-10-19
20091992009-07-07. Suspension. On certain vehicles, the front axle beam may not have been manufactured correctly. Transverse shear lines on the bottom of the axle could allow cracks to form which, over time, may cause the axle beam to fail. This could result in a vehicle crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the axle beam.
20033152003-12-05. Brakes. Certain vehicles do not comply with the requirements of CMVSS 121 "Air Brake Systems". Due to improper seating of the check valve retainer in the brass fitting housing, it is possible for the air brake system pressure to push the check valve internal parts into the primary system reservoir and a vehicle operator would not know that this has happened. In this condition, the vehicle would not meet the emergency requirements of the standard. Correction: Dealer will replace the check valve.

A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
