Service bulletins for the 2026 Lotus Emira
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 131-26022 | 2026-10-07. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING. Optional removal of specific ADAS/driver support functions at customer request. Feedback received from some Emira owners have expressed a wish to remove some of the selectable driver support functions available for 2026 model year vehicles onwards because of their intentional intrusion alerts whilst driving. the driver support functions affected are: - Lane departure warning.* - Traffic sign recognition/vehicle overspeed alert. - Fatigue alert. *Lane departure warning is not available on 2027 model year vehicles for the Federal market. Note: Although these driver support options can be deselected from the centre display, they will all default to ‘on/active’ at the next drive cycle. ACTION If an Emira owner is dissatisfied with the intrusive alerts of one or more of the driver support functions listed above, then, specifically at their request, the owner can be offered an Aftersales service level software option to remove options from their vehicle. Please make the owner aware that these features are not individually selectable and that installing this software option will remove all three of these options from the vehicle. |

| 131-26020 | 2026-10-07. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Periodic inspection of HVAC water shield covering. It has been reported that the water shield covering (intended to protect the air conditioning/heater resistor module from water contamination) can develop cracks and tears in its material. Cracks and tears can appear where the covering is stretched or has tight folds and can be caused by factors such as age, climate and heat cycling conditions. If certain areas of the water shield become cracked and torn, then this can allow water ingress into the air conditioning sensor and resistor module, resulting in their failure. ACTION It is recommended to visually inspect the condition of the water shield cover during routine servicing (or if the front access panel is raised for any reason). All Emira service schedule sheets will be updated in the near future to include this as an annual inspection (or by mileage) to coincide with either a brake fluid check or replacement. Inspect the cover for perforations or tears (taking special attention in areas where the cover is stretched or has tight folds). Surface cracking of the water material are acceptable, but if perforations or tears are found, then the water shield should be replaced. For water shield covering removal and refitment information, refer to the procedures for all models shown in Technical Service Bulletin TSB-131-24007. |
| 131-26007 Issue 3 | 2026-10-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Emira 4-Cylinder vehicles only - Issue 3 includes updated information on thermostat the testing method and replaces version 2 of this bulletin published on 05.08.2026. Diagnosing medium temperature engine coolant thermostat operation to prevent unnecessary thermostat replacement. The information in this bulletin is intended as a procedure that should be performed if a 4-cylinder Emira has generated Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2CEF00 Auxiliary Thermostat “A” Stuck Open (see image for thermostat location). Generation of DTC P2CEF00 may also result in: - Illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL). - A low coolant temperature warning message being displayed. IMPORTANT: Do not continue with the procedure in this bulletin If DTC P2CEF00 has NOT BEEN generated. ACTION If DTC P2CEF00 has been generated, then raise a technical ticket on LCMS (Lotus Cars Management System) and follow the procedure shown in TSB. |
| 131-26018 | 2026-07-07. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. TITLE - Carconfig update on EmiraDS. REASON - A new Carconfig file is available on EmiraDS to support any future ECU (Electronic Control Unit) software upgrades. Because the Carconfig is a common file shared across all ECU software packages, the “New Software Available” notification will be displayed on multiple ECUs, (except for CPC, EIS, EMS, FSCM, and TCM 2L ECUs). Important - This does not necessarily indicate that a specific upgrade is required for each ECU listed, but if a software notification is also available for the DDM (Driver Door Module), upgrading the DDM first will clear the notification for all other ECUs that do not have individually applicable upgrades. ACTION - If a vehicle connected to EmiraDS is displaying the “New Software Available” notification across multiple ECUs, then check to see if software notification is also available for the DDM. Upgrade the DDM first and then check to see if the “New Software Available” notification on other ECU’s has now been deleted. |
| 131-26017 | 2026-07-07. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. TITLE Availability of Emira service replacement lower front wishbone ball joint dust covers. REASON An unfinished rough edge, on the steering knuckle assemblies (hub carriers), can, under full suspension/steering movement, contact the lower wishbone ball joint dust cover, resulting in premature wear or damage to the dust cover. Service level dust covers are now available which prevent the replacement of complete front lower wishbones assemblies and associated labour times for suspension/steering alignment procedures because of split or damaged ball joint dust covers. ACTION If damage to the ball joint dust cover as shown above is seen during an underbody inspection (such as routine servicing etc), but the ball joint is still in a serviceable condition, then the rough edge of the steering knuckle casting should be smoothed and the ball joint dust cover replaced. |
| 131-26016 | 2026-07-07. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Odometer mileage adjustment implications of module substitutions on Emira vehicles. For security, necessary data collection and to ensure the correct vehicle mileage is maintained in the event of a DIM/DHU (Driver Information Module/Display Head Unit) replacement, other specific modules as well as the odometer are constantly recording information such as vehicle speed, operating hours and the total vehicle mileage at the same time. Modules Recording Mileage Data Emira DIM (Driver Information Module) SRS (Supplementary Restraint System) module CEM (Central Electronic Module) VDDM (Vehicle Dynamics Domain Module) ECM (Electronic Control Module) Sometimes components including modules are taken either from stock or substituted/swapped over from other vehicles available to aid in diagnosing the cause of a fault with an owner’s vehicle. Any of the modules listed above must NEVER be fitted from a ‘donor’ (correctly functioning vehicle) for this purpose, as once connected to the faulty vehicle, the module with the highest mileage will overwrite the current recorded mileage stored in ALL those modules to that higher mileage. Never be tempted to swap over any of the modules shown on page 1 of the bulletin for either diagnostic fault finding purposes, or in an attempt to get an Emira back on the road. |
| 131-26014 | 2026-05-12. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Fitment of tail lamp link lead harnesses to prevent rear tail lamp failure. Under a specific usage condition* one or both of the rear tail lamps can stop illuminating. *Hazard warning lights have been continuously activated for a prolonged time period with the ignition off and the tailgate closed. Turning the ignition on or opening the tailgate will reactivate the position lights, but the turn indicator fault will remain. Only turning on the engine will reactivate the CEM and correct the turn indicator fault. Link leads fitted between the engine compartment harness and rear lamp connector plugs are now fitted as a production running change to resolve this issue. The actions of this bulletin supersede the contents of Technical Service Bulletin TSB-131-26004 which affected 2024/2025 model year 4-cylinder vehicles only. |
| 131-26009 | 2026-04-13. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Availability of ASO exhaust muffler (rear silencer) valve actuator as service replacement part. Until recently the failure of the exhaust muffler valve actuator has required the exhaust muffler and valve to be renewed as a complete assembly. The exhaust muffler valve actuator is now available as a separate replacement part. The advantages of not having to replace the combined assembly are for a faulty actuator are: - Less labour-intensive procedure to replace. - More practical to keep an exhaust muffler valve actuator as a parts stock item. If an exhaust muffler valve actuator is diagnosed as faulty then please determine if the exhaust flow valve mechanism in the rear silencer is operating and moving correctly*, if it is then please fit a new valve actuator instead of a complete muffler assembly. *Actuator replacement is only suitable if the exhaust flow valve mechanism in the rear silencer is operating and moving correctly. If the exhaust flow valve is not operating or seized, then the exhaust silencer or actuator assembly should be replaced. |
| 131-26007 | 2026-04-13. Service bulletin. ENGINE. 1. If the thermostat MOVES FREELY when heated and cooled, then refit the original thermostat with a new gasket and refill the engine with new antifreeze/coolant. 2. If the thermostat DOES NOT move freely when heated and cooled, then fit a NEW thermostat and gasket and refill the engine with new antifreeze/coolant. Carefully package the thermostat and contact Emira Support using LCMS to arrange collection. |
| 131-26003 | 2026-03-04. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Updating the TEM (Telematics Module), to the latest level software. software update is now available to remove car configuration related DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) when the TEM is set to eCall or voice call only. Check and identify any affected Emira vehicles from your inventory stock, dealer demonstrators and customer vehicles to ensure that this campaign action is performed at the first opportunity. Any affected vehicle’s campaign status will be displayed on the Lotus Commercial Management System (LCMS). This software update will not affect current vehicle functionality. |
| 131-25003R | 2026-01-06. Emissions. ENGINE; POWER TRAIN. VDDM (Vehicle Dynamics Domain Module) software update to ensure CARB compliance. REASON To meet CARB (California Air Resources Board) regulations, the latest level VDDM software must be installed into all affected vehicles so that multiple DTC’s (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) are generated in the event of a circuit or sensor fault affecting the ambient air temperature sensor. The VDDM software update is subject to a campaign action. ACTION - This is a market service activity to stop delivery of pre-sold vehicles. Please do not release any affected vehicles until the software update is performed. - IMPORTANT: The VIN’s affected by this recall action are for Federal 2026 model year 4-cylinder vehicles which, at the time of this bulletin release, are still scheduled for production. Once these vehicles arrive at the Dealerships, they should be checked for this and any other software updates during the PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) process. Federal law requires that any vehicles in dealer inventory are rectified (updating to the latest level VDDM software), before retail delivery. - Note: Because at the time of bulletin release, the specific VIN’s affected by the VDDM software update cannot be identified, ensure to check the model year of 4-cylinder Emira vehicles at the time of PDI to confirm if it is a 2026 model year (these can be identified from the 10th digit of their VIN which has the letter ‘T’). |
