Service bulletin 131-26009

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Availability of ASO exhaust muffler (rear silencer) valve actuator as service replacement part. Until recently the failure of the exhaust muffler valve actuator has required the exhaust muffler and valve to be renewed as a complete assembly. The exhaust muffler valve actuator is now available as a separate replacement part. The advantages of not having to replace the combined assembly are for a faulty actuator are: - Less labour-intensive procedure to replace. - More practical to keep an exhaust muffler valve actuator as a parts stock item. If an exhaust muffler valve actuator is diagnosed as faulty then please determine if the exhaust flow valve mechanism in the rear silencer is operating and moving correctly*, if it is then please fit a new valve actuator instead of a complete muffler assembly. *Actuator replacement is only suitable if the exhaust flow valve mechanism in the rear silencer is operating and moving correctly. If the exhaust flow valve is not operating or seized, then the exhaust silencer or actuator assembly should be replaced.

IMPORTANT: Do not continue with the procedure in this bulletin If DTC P2CEF00 has NOT BEEN generated. 1. If the thermostat MOVES FREELY when heated and cooled, then refit the original thermostat with a new gasket and refill the engine with new antifreeze/coolant. 2. 131-25003R2026-01-06. Emissions. VDDM (Vehicle Dynamics Domain Module) software update to ensure CARB compliance. REASON To meet CARB (California Air Resources Board) regulations, the latest level VDDM software must be installed into all affected vehicles so that multiple DTC’s (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) are generated in the event of a circuit or sensor fault affecting the ambient air temperature sensor. The VDDM software update is subject to a campaign action. ACTION - This is a market service activity to stop delivery of pre-sold vehicles. Please do not release any affected vehicles until the software update is performed. - IMPORTANT: The VIN’s affected by this recall action are for Federal 2026 model year 4-cylinder vehicles which, at the time of this bulletin release, are still scheduled for production. Once these vehicles arrive at the Dealerships, they should be checked for this and any other software updates during the PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) process. Federal law requires that any vehicles in dealer inventory are rectified (updating to the latest level VDDM software), before retail delivery. - Note: Because at the time of bulletin release, the specific VIN’s affected by the VDDM software update cannot be identified, ensure to check the model year of 4-cylinder Emira vehicles at the time of PDI to confirm if it is a 2026 model year (these can be identified from the 10th digit of their VIN which has the letter ‘T’).
131-250202025-12-10. Service bulletin. Updating the ECM (Engine Control Module), to the latest level software. REASON - A new ECM SW update is available on EmiraDS to resolve the following issues: - The false setting of U010900 DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code). - Reduce the delay time between pressing the start button and engine cranking for vehicles with lower tolerance fuel pump pressure. ACTION - Check and identify any affected Emira vehicles from your inventory stock, dealer demonstrators and customer vehicles to ensure that this campaign action is performed at the first opportunity. - Any affected vehicle’s campaign status will be displayed on the Lotus Commercial Management System (LCMS). NOTE: This SW update will not affect current vehicle functionality
