Service bulletins for the 2024 Lotus Emira

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

131-260202026-10-07. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Periodic inspection of HVAC water shield covering. It has been reported that the water shield covering (intended to protect the air conditioning/heater resistor module from water contamination) can develop cracks and tears in its material. Cracks and tears can appear where the covering is stretched or has tight folds and can be caused by factors such as age, climate and heat cycling conditions. If certain areas of the water shield become cracked and torn, then this can allow water ingress into the air conditioning sensor and resistor module, resulting in their failure. ACTION It is recommended to visually inspect the condition of the water shield cover during routine servicing (or if the front access panel is raised for any reason). All Emira service schedule sheets will be updated in the near future to include this as an annual inspection (or by mileage) to coincide with either a brake fluid check or replacement. Inspect the cover for perforations or tears (taking special attention in areas where the cover is stretched or has tight folds). Surface cracking of the water material are acceptable, but if perforations or tears are found, then the water shield should be replaced. For water shield covering removal and refitment information, refer to the procedures for all models shown in Technical Service Bulletin TSB-131-24007.
TSB-131-240202024-09-04. Service bulletin. WHEELS. New operation required for Emira service schedule sheets. During normal road use, it has been identified that dirt/grease/road debris can accumulate around the WSS (Wheel Speed Sensors) and the magnetic rings located on the rear of the hub units. This accumulation may affect the signal being transmitted to the VDDM (Vehicle Dynamics Domain Master), also known as the ABS module, which can result in the generation of diagnostic trouble codes, activating the illumination of the amber colour MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp). ACTION To ensure continuing customer satisfaction, Lotus will update the ‘Braking’ section of the V6 and 4-Cylinder Emira service schedule sheets to include a new operation to remove any loose debris on all four WSS using a suitable airline, then inspect and clean the WSS with a clean cloth and brake cleaner to remove any dirt deposits. At the same time the corresponding magnetic rings on the rear of the hub units should also be cleaned. This new procedure should be carried out at every service interval. Emira V6: Original Part Number - LSL689 Updated Part Number - LSL689a Emira 4-Cylinder: Original Part Number - LSL692 Updated Part Number - LSL692a
