Service bulletins for the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| N049NAS1 | 2017-08-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE. SITUATION: An issue has been identified on certain vehicles within the listed Affected Vehicle Range which may have been manufactured away from process and, in some cases, have incorrectly mapped Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) applied to the V8 5.0L S/C Petrol engine variant. Investigations have identified that the V6 3.0L S/C Petrol engine DTC mapping was incorrectly applied to the V8 5.0L S/C Petrol engine variant, which has led to incorrect cylinder identification in a misfire condition. In these instances, the engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) would operate as normal but it would be difficult to diagnose the cylinder that is misfiring as all the misfire DTCs are incorrect, except for cylinders 7 and 8 which are not affected. |

THE PRIMARY BELT DRIVES THE COOLANT PUMP AND GENERATOR HENCE THE POTENTIAL FOR THE COOLANT GAUGE TO READ HIGH AND/OR THE CHARGE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATING IF THE BELT IS DAMAGED AND NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. THIS CONCERNS AFFECTS LTIS (LOW TIME IN SERVICE) VEHICLES WITH THE 3.0 AJ126 AND 5.0 AJ133 GASOLINE ENGINES FITTED. |
