The concern detailed in this SSM is applicable to 2017 and 2018 MY vehicles and typically occurs at low mileage (below 2500 miles/4000 kilometres) and affects vehicles fitted with the 8HP45 or 8HP70 automatic transmission.
SSM737092018-07-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:TRANSFER CASE (4-WHEEL DRIVE); ENGINE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Issue: Oil leaking between the automatic transmission and transfer case assemblies which in some instances is being misdiagnosed potentially leading to repeat repairs, for example leaks incorrectly being identified as coming from the rear transmission oil seal or oil pan. Oil weeps through the aluminium casing in the rear extension housing of the transmission in the base of the pocket around where the steel D clutch steel tube is embedded.
