| 2023645 | 2023-12-06. Brakes. Issue: On a small number of emergency vehicles, the inversion valve in the air brake system may not work properly. As a result, there could be a delay before the parking brake applies. If this happens, the vehicle could move unexpectedly. This issue also causes the vehicle not to meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: A delay before the parking brake applies could result in unintended vehicle movement, and create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: KME will notify the owners by mail and arrange for an inspection of the inversion valve. If the valve is not certified, it will be replaced. |

| 2022603 | 2022-10-21. Steering. Issue: On certain emergency vehicles, the tie rod end clamps could crack and loosen. If this happens, the threads on the tie rod end could become damaged and the tie rod end could separate. This could cause a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Spartan Fire will notify the owners by mail and instruct you to contact Meritor to arrange for replacement of the tie rod end clamps. |
| 2022087 | 2022-02-24. Powertrain. Issue: On a small number of fire trucks, there may be a defect in the rear axle drive pinion that could cause it to break. If this happens, the air brake line could be damaged and cause the parking brakes to apply suddenly. Note: This recall only affects fire trucks equipped with certain 180-series Meritor axles. Safety Risk: A parking brake that self-applies while driving could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, if a following driver does not recognize when a vehicle ahead is braking, there could also be an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: KME will notify owners by mail and will arrange for an inspection of the drive pinion. It will be replaced, if necessary. |
A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
