This stops operation causing Warning Lamp ON and/or Pop-up Message displayed on the cluster. This is a normal operation of the ADAS and once environment conditions improve and/or substance/debris are removed, the system will clear itself and operate normally.

In the event that this DTC is set, throughly inspect the EWP and harness connectors which are located behind the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) and are sometimes difficult to see.

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: HEV/PHEV P0128 LOGIC IMPROVEMENT - This bulletin provides the procedure to improve the logic of the Engine Control Module (ECU) on some 2017-2019MY Niro (DE HEV/PHEV) vehicles, produced from November 1, 2016 through November 25, 2019 and equipped with Kappa 1.6 GDI engine, regarding DTC (P0128) judgement logic. To correct this concern, apply the improved logic to the ECU using the KDS ECU Upgrade function as described in this bulletin.
