PITSTOP: COOLANT RESERVOIR OVERFLOW PORT - This Pitstop provides information regarding the presence of engine coolant residue found on the coolant reservoir of some 2021-2023MY K5 (DL3a) vehicles equipped with a 1.6L T-GDI engine. The coolant reservoir on these Kia models was designed with a coolant overflow port located in the rear of the reservoir. During normal vehicle operation, coolant level may rise at or above the overflow port which can seep out of the coolant reservoir, therefore causing coolant to flow out and accumulate around the center seam of the reservoir. This may lead technicians to believe the coolant reservoir is faulty.

PITSTOP: PRECAUTIONS FOR WET 8-SPEED DCT: This Pitstop provides information related to the replacement of an 8-Speed Wet Dual Clutch Transmission (WDCT) assembly on some 2021-2023MY K5 (DL3a) and Sorento (MQ4a) vehicles, where the High Flow Electric Oil Pump (HF EOP) protective connector cover may NOT be installed on the new/remanufactured WDCT assembly during production or remanufacturing. The HF EOP connector may become contaminated during shipping and/or may become contaminated with oil and/or coolant during installation.

This Pitstop provides information regarding the Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) with Rear Door Logic system on all 21MY~ models equipped with this feature. This system is designed to help prevent a rear passenger from being left inside the vehicle when exiting. The "Check Rear Seats" message will display on the cluster when driver opens the front door, if during vehicle operation the rear doors (one or both) were opened and closed.

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: DATA COLLECTION: EXTRACT CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS DATA FROM ECU (DC23) - This bulletin provides information related to extracting in use performance tracking emissions data from the Engine Control Unit (ECU) of certain vehicles sold in California. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) requires the emissions data from vehicles with a minimum of 3,000 accumulated miles without reprogramming or resetting. To facilitate collection of this data at the dealer level, KDS screenshots will allow the capture of relevant parameters.
