By component
| 03V234000 | 2003-07-01. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. ON CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH VERTICAL TAIL PIPES, THE FRAME ACCESS GRABHANDLE IS MOUNTED TOO HIGH. Built 2002-11-12 to 2003-04-30. |
|---|---|
| 03V168000 | 2003-05-05. TRAILER HITCHES:FIFTH WHEEL ASSEMBLY. ON CERTAIN TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH JOST INTERNATIONAL JSK 37U SERIES FIFTH WHEELS, A FATIGUE CRACK CAN DEVELOP IN THE BRACKET PIN WELD UNDER CERTAIN LOADING CONDITIONS. Built 2001-07-18 to 2003-05-15. |
| 03V045000 | 2003-02-13. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. CERTAIN TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH TRAILER CONNECTIONS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS (FMVSS) NO. 121, "AIR BRAKE SYSTEMS," AND NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THE SUPPLIER REMOVED A RUBBER GROMMET FROM THE TRAILER LIGHT LINE CONNECTOR. THE VEHICLES ARE EXPERIENCING CORROSION AT THE 7-WAY TRAILER CONNECTION. THIS CAUSES INTERMITTENT FLASHING/FLICKERING OF THE TRAILER LIGHTS. Built 2002-05-23 to 2003-02-14. |
| 2003163 | 2003-07-02. Other. On certain vehicles, the grabhandles were mounted too high and may limit the ability to maintain 3-points of contact at all times. This condition may cause a person to slip and/or fall and could lead to personal injury. Correction: Dealer will relocate the handle to the proper height. |
|---|---|
| 2003121 | 2003-05-05. Other. On certain vehicles, fatigue cracks can initiate in the weld joining the bracket pin to its mounting flange on the fifth wheel assembly. Weld failures could lead to the loss of the pin and the potential separation of the fifth wheel top plate from its mounting structure without warning. Correction: Dealers will replace the bracket pins. |
| 2003034 | 2003-02-13. Lights And Instruments. On certain vehicles a rubber grommet from the trailer light line connector is missing. Kenworth chassis equipped with trailer connections are experiencing corrosion at the 7-way trailer connector with the light line because of the missing grommet, which causes intermittent flashing/flickering of the trailer lights. The elimination of this grommet allowed water to enter the connection and begin corroding, which can cause a short and/or possible fire hazard. Correction: Dealer will install the missing grommet and if a connector is found defective, it will be replaced. |
| 2001248 | 2001-11-16. Engine. Certain heavy duty trucks. The driveline u-joint fasteners at the output yoke of the transmission were improperly tightened. Under-tightened fasteners can lead to the driveline becoming detached from the vehicle resulting in property damage or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will tighten the driveline fasteners to the proper specification. |
