A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups.
By component
| 07V020000 | 2007-01-29. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY:CABLES. ON CERTAIN TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH CATERPILLAR C10, C11, C12, C13, C15 OR C16 ENGINES, THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLES THAT SUPPLY POWER FROM THE BATTERIES TO THE STARTER MAY RUB AGAINST AN ELECTRICAL GROUND CABLE BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE STARTER, AN ELECTRICAL GROUND CABLE BETWEEN THE FRAME RAIL AND THE STARTER, OR THE FRAME RAIL ITSELF. Built 2002-04-01 to 2006-12-25. |
|---|---|
| 04V482000 | 2004-10-07. SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER ARM. ON CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS,THE LOWER TIE ROD ARMS ON CERTAIN AXLES WERE NOT INDUCTION HARDENED AS REQUIRED BY INTERNATIONAL'S SPECIFICATION. Built 2002-11-01 to 2003-05-28. |
| 04V100000 | 2004-02-27. EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER. ON CERTAIN CONVENTIONAL TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH PRO-SLEEPER BERTHS, WATER INTRUSION CAN BE FOUND IN THE BUNK CONTROL PANEL AREA AND POOL IN THE TOPS OF THE DOME LIGHT, TV/VCR, AND OR REFRIGERATOR POWER SWITCHES. Built 1994-04-01 to 2002-06-16. |
| 02V265000 | 2002-09-25. STEERING:GEAR BOX:SHAFT SECTOR. ON CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS, THE JOINT BETWEEN THE LOWER PORTION OF THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE UPPER END OF THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT MAY HAVE A MISSING OR LOOSE PINCH BOLT. THIS CONDITION COULD ALSO OCCUR AT THE LOWER END OF THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT AT THE STEERING GEAR CONNECTION. Built 2002-06-04 to 2002-09-12. |
| 2011102 | 2011-03-03. Engine. On certain vehicles equipped with a Caterpillar C15 engine, the Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) oil line may wear against the P-clip retaining the oil line. An oil leak could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Caterpillar dealers will replace the VVA oil line with an updated version. |
|---|---|
| 2004351 | 2004-09-24. Steering. The lower tie rod arms on certain axles were not induction hardened during manufacture. Without the induction hardening process being performed, the tie rod arm may fatigue. A fatigue failure of the tie rod arm may result in a loss of vehicle steering control that can possibly result in a crash without warning. Correction: Dealers will replace the lower tie rod arms. |
| 2004074 | 2004-02-26. Electrical. On certain vehicles, water intrusion into the sleeper berth's bunk control panel area may pool in the tops of the dome light, TV/VCR, and/or refrigerator power switches. The LED circuit boards in these switches may begin to heat up and possibly produce a flame or fire, without warning, that could cause property damage, personal injury, or death. Correction: Dealer will install a water shield over the back of the entire bunk control panel. |
| 2002170 | 2002-09-26. Steering. On certain vehicles, the joint between the lower portion of the steering column and the upper end of the intermediate steering shaft may have a missing or loose pinch bolt. Although less likely, this condition could also occur at the lower end of the intermediate steering shaft at the steering gear connection. If a pinch bolt is missing or vibrates loose, the intermediate shaft could separate from the steering column or steering gear, and/or allow relative rotation (slip) between the joined shafts. This would cause a loss of steering control, which could result in a vehicle collision. Correction: The dealer will inspect both ends of the intermediate steering shaft to ensure the pinch bolt is installed and/or properly torqued. If the bolt and nut are missing, new ones will be installed. |
A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
