| 1992054 | 1992-05-07. Engine. ON VEHICLES WITH 3176 CATERPILLAR ENGINE AND WILLIAMS ELECTRONIC ACCELERATOR PEDAL, ONE OR BOTH OF THE ELECTRONIC FOOT PEDAL RETURN SPRINGS MAY FAIL. SHOULD ONE SPRING FAIL, THE PEDAL MAY PREVENT THE ENGINE FROM RETURNING TO IDLE IN THE REQUIRED TIME. SHOULD BOTH SPRINGS FAIL, THE PEDAL WILL NOT RETURN TO THE IDLE POSITION AND UNINTENDED FULL THROTTLE MAY OCCUR. THIS COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. CORRECTION: AN ACCELERATOR PEDAL RETURN SPRING KIT WILL BE INSTALLED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES. |
