| 04V306000 | 2004-06-30. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY:CABLES. ON CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH INTERNATIONAL DT530, CUMMINS, OR CATERPILLAR I-6 ENGINES, THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE BETWEEN THE BATTERIES AND THE STARTER MAY RUB AGAINST AN ELECTRICAL GROUND CABLE BETWEEN THE STARTER AND FRAME RAIL. | 04V144000 | 2004-03-22. POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:UNIVERSAL JOINT. ON CERTAIN TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH DT466 OR DT530 1308 STYLE ENGINES AND 4X4 OR 6X6 CAPABILITY, THE UNIVERSAL JOINT BETWEEN THE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT AND DRIVE AXLE COULD COME IN CONTACT WITH THE ENGINE OIL FILTER UNDER CERTAIN BRAKING CONDITIONS. | 03V161000 | 2003-04-29. VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER. CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 104, "WINDSHIELD WIPING AND WASHING SYSTEMS." DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE WINDSHIELD WASHER PUMP MOTOR CIRCUIT, THE SYSTEM'S ABILITY TO FUNCTION IS IMPAIRED WHEN IT IS FULL OF FROZEN WATER AND THE PUMP MOTOR SHAFT IS LOCKED OR FROZEN (CANNOT ROTATE). Built 2000-10-24 to 2001-10-15. |
| 2004208 | 2004-06-24. Electrical. On certain vehicles, the positive battery cable between the battery and the starter may rub against an electrical ground cable between the starter and frame rail, possibly causing an electrical short and/or fire. Correction: Dealers will inspect to determine if any chafing has occurred between the positive and negative cables. If there is no evidence of chafing, a saddle clamp will be installed to ensure cables do not rub. If there is evidence of chafing, the damaged cables will be replaced and the swivel saddle clamp installed. |
|---|---|
| 2004111 | 2004-03-23. Engine. On certain vehicles, the universal joint between the front drive shaft and the front drive axle may come in contact with the engine oil filter causing a puncture and resulting in complete engine oil loss. Engine oil loss will result in the shutdown of the vehicle's engine without warning, possibly resulting in property damage, personal injury, or death. Correction: Dealer will install a shorter oil filter and an adapter designed to ensure that only the shorter oil filter can be installed during future filter changes. |
| 2001270 | 2001-11-21. Electrical. Certain vehicles fail to meet C.M.V.S.S. 104. During the system frozen test the washer pump fuse failed. Correction: Dealer will replace the 5 amp fuse with a 10 amp fuse and install a new 10 amp label over the original 5 amp designation on the fuse panel label. |
A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
