Recalls that may apply to the 2000 International 5000
A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups.

| 2002113 | 2002-06-17. Brakes. On certain trucks the fitting that connects the double check valve to the rear axle air brake relay valve may break. If the fitting breaks the rear service brakes will cease to operate, resulting in an extended stopping distance, possibly resulting in a collision. |

| 2001211 | 2001-08-20. Electrical. Certain heavy duty trucks. In below freezing operating conditions, the air-pressure actuated brake light switch that is mounted outside the cab on the front cowl, may not activate during light to normal braking and could result in a failure of the brake lights to activate. If the brake lights fail to come on, there will be no lights to indicate to following vehicles that the vehicle is decelerating, which could result in a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace all air brake stop light switches. |
| 2001177 | 2001-08-17. Steering. Certain heavy duty trucks equipped with axle assemblies which may have been manufactured with ArvinMeritor 12,000lb, 13,200lb axles, and Dana 9,000 front drive axles built with TRW 20-EDL ball sockets/drags links. The tie rod ball-socket bearings have a below specification case depth and/or hardness which can lead to premature wear out of the socket in some applications. If this condition occurs, the driver can lose steering control, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the drag link assemblies. |
| 2001087 | 2001-04-06. Steering. Certain trucks with drag link assemblies built with TRW 24-DL ball sockets. The tie rod and drag link ball stud ends contain bearings that are below the specified case depth and/or hardness. This can lead to premature wear with possible separation of the ball stud from the socket, increasing the risk of loss of control of the vehicle. Correction: Vehicles will be inspected and suspect drag links will be replaced. |
| 2000247 | 2000-10-26. Steering. On certain vehicles, the TRW tie rod and drag link ball stud ends contain bearings that are below the specified case depth and/or hardness. This can lead to premature wear out and a possible separation of the ball stud from the socket and loss of steering control. Correction: All affected tie rods and drag links with different design ends will be replaced. |
| 2000209 | 2000-09-28. Brakes. On certain vehicles, the ABS ECU misinterprets certain signals from wheel ends which can result in the temporary loss of braking capability on one or more wheel positions for several seconds. This response results from either an ABS cable that has chafed through the insulation and contacted a rotating part or a misaligned tone ring that has been damaged by contacting other components. Correction: ABS ECU will be replaced with a new ECU with upgraded software capable of detecting and properly responding to erroneous signals. |
| 2000186 | 2000-09-13. Electrical. On certain vehicles, moisture within the air brake system may collect inside the brake light and cruise control switches. If the moisture in the switches freezes, the brake lights may not function and the cruise control might not disengage when the brake pedal is depressed. Correction: The air manifold and switches will be re-mounted to a proven, trouble free, location. |
A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
