| 1997153 | 1997-09-09. Engine. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ROD MATERIAL IS EXCESSIVELY BRITTLE AND MAY BREAK DURING A HARD FULL THROTTLE APPLICATION. SHOULD THE ROD BREAK, THE ENGINE WOULD RETURN TO IDLE. THIS COULD RESULT IN AN INABILITY TO PROPERLY ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE IN A CIRCUMSTANCE WHICH COULD CAUSE A VEHICULAR ACCIDENT WITHOUT WARNING. CORRECTION: ACCELERATOR RODS ON AFFECTED VEHICLES WILL BE REPLACED WITH NEW RODS. |
