| 08V258000 | 2008-06-05. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. NAVISTAR IS RECALLING 51,588 HEAVY TRUCKS, COMMERCIAL BUSES AND SCHOOL BUSES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN NOVEMBER 21, 2000 AND MAY 21, 2008, EQUIPPED WITH ONE OR MORE REMOTE POWER MODULES. THE POTTING MATERIAL THAT ENCAPSULATES THE CIRCUIT BOARD OF THE VEHICLE'S REMOTE POWER MODULE MAY NOT SUFFICIENTLY SEAL THE CIRCUIT BOARD FROM WATER AND CONTAMINATION INTRUSION. IF THE ENCAPSULATION IS COMPROMISED, WATER AND CONTAMINANTS MAY CAUSE AN INTERNAL ELECTRICAL SHORT, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A FIRE. Built 2000-11-21 to 2008-05-21. |

| 2008196 | 2008-06-05. Electrical. On certain vehicles, the potting material that encapsulates the circuit board of the remote power module may not sufficiently seal the circuit board from water and contamination intrusion. If the encapsulation is compromised, water and contaminants may cause an internal electrical short. An electrical short could cause a fire which can result in property damage, personal injury, or death. Correction: Dealers will install a fused electrical cable in the ground circuit of each suspect vehicle that has one or more remote power module(s). |
|---|---|
| 2002182 | 2002-10-09. Brakes. On certain vehicles, the hand operated trailer brake control may have a partially blocked delivery port, which can cause the trailer brakes to be slow to apply an release when operated by the hand control valve. If this hand control valve is used while the vehicle is in motion, the slow brake application or release may contribute to loss of control of the vehicle causing a collision, possibly resulting in property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: The dealer will replace the defective valves. |
A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
