2001-08-17. Steering. Certain heavy duty trucks equipped with axle assemblies which may have been manufactured with ArvinMeritor 12,000lb, 13,200lb axles, and Dana 9,000 front drive axles built with TRW 20-EDL ball sockets/drags links. The tie rod ball-socket bearings have a below specification case depth and/or hardness which can lead to premature wear out of the socket in some applications. If this condition occurs, the driver can lose steering control, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the drag link assemblies.

2001-07-09. Wheels. Certain buses equipped with 295/75R22.5 tires mounted on 7.5 inch wide wheels, fail to comply with requirements of CMVSS 120, "tire selection and rims for motor vehicles other than passenger cars." these tires and rims do not match. Correction: Dealers will replace the wheels with 8.25" wide wheels.
2000-10-26. Steering. On certain vehicles, the TRW tie rod and drag link ball stud ends contain bearings that are below the specified case depth and/or hardness. This can lead to premature wear out and a possible separation of the ball stud from the socket and loss of steering control. Correction: All affected tie rods and drag links with different design ends will be replaced.
2000-09-28. Brakes. On certain vehicles, the ABS ECU misinterprets certain signals from wheel ends which can result in the temporary loss of braking capability on one or more wheel positions for several seconds. This response results from either an ABS cable that has chafed through the insulation and contacted a rotating part or a misaligned tone ring that has been damaged by contacting other components. Correction: ABS ECU will be replaced with a new ECU with upgraded software capable of detecting and properly responding to erroneous signals.
A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
