Service bulletins for the 2017 GMC Yukon

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have a no crank concern. Technician will need to check the valve train for movement when the engine is cranked. If the valve train is not moving while the crankshaft is moving the front cover will need to be removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly. If the valve train is rotating during inspection, disconnect the Camshaft Position sensor and check if the engine will start. If the engine starts front cover will need to be removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly. If the engine does not start with the Camshaft Position sensor disconnected the follow published “Engine Cranks But Does Not Run” diagnosis in Service Information. Also perform an Engine Compression Test and Cylinder Leakage Test in Service Information documents all results. If the Service Information procedures above isolate an engine mechanical concern then removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly.
PIP5308B2018-02-21. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ENGINE; EXTERIOR LIGHTING. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles with the Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp on. PIP5507B2017-08-15. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP. This Preliminary information communicatesIn ambient temperatures 100F (37.7 C)degrees or higher, DTCs P2635 and/or P018B may set.The vehicle may also exhibit a hesitation or stalling condition.Excessively Hot and sustained ambient temperatures over 100F (37.7 C) degrees Mainly in TX, AZ, UT, NV, CA, NM (could be any state) causingVapor buildup in fuel feed line.Customers can be advised to utilize fuels with octane levels greater than 91, Refrain from extended idleing periods if possible, park vehicles in covered garage.Replacing the fuel pump will not repare this concern.
PIP55092017-08-15. Service bulletin. ENGINE; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. This Preliminary information communicates Auto Stop message on the DICNote about Auto Stop message on DIC. It appears that anytime the engine comes to a stall or near stall the "Auto Stop" message on the DIC will light momentarily (just a second and may blink on several times then go out).It is unknown why this anomaly occurs. It appears this gauge cluster can be used with an auto stop vehicle even though trucksdo not have auto stop at this time. It may be for future use on other trucks. Bottom line is ignore this message and fix the issue of stalling or near stall concern.

THIS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION COMMUNICATION PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE TECHNICIAN ON THE STEPS TO DIAGNOSING THE CONCERN OF A RATTLE, TICK AND/OR A VIBRATION FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS COULD BE COMING FROM THE FUEL FEED LINE BETWEEN THE FUEL TANK AND ETHANOL SENSOR. TECHNICIAN WILL APPLY PRESSURE TO THE FUEL LINE TO DETERMINE IF THIS IS THE SOURCE OF THE CONCERN. IF IT IS DETERMINED THE FUEL LINE IS THE SOURCE OF THIS CONCERN REPLACE THE FUEL FEED PIPE BETWEEN THE CHASSIS LINE AND THE HIGH PRESSURE PUMP.
